Spitting in the face of the American taxpayers: Obama gives $400,000 to Gaddafi’s “charity”

If you made up this story and stuck it in a movie, no one would believe it.. The Obama Administration plans to give $400,000 in funding to a Libyan charity run by the Gadhafi family, and U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) wants the grant withdrawn.

Sure, he's nuttier than a friggin' fruitcake, but now he's also the recipient of 400,000 of your tax dollars
Sure, he's nuttier than a friggin' fruitcake, but now he's also the recipient of 400,000 of your tax dollars

If you made up this story and stuck it in a movie, no one would believe it. It’s incomprehensible. Just plain incomprehensible.

CBS2 Chicago reports:

The Obama Administration plans to give $400,000 in funding to a Libyan charity run by the Gadhafi family, and U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) wants the grant withdrawn.

The money would be divided between two foundations run by the family of Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi. A $200,000 share is set to go to the Gadhafi Development Foundation, which is run by Gadhafi’s son, Saif, and another $200,000 are to go to Wa Attassimou, an organization run by Muammar Gadhafi’s daughter, Aisha.

Kirk says the grants should be withdrawn in light of the recent return to Libya of Pan Am Flight 103 bomber Abdel Baset Megrahi. The terminally ill prisoner was released from in Scotland on compassionate grounds, and got a hero’s welcome from Muammar Gadhafi and other Libyans upon his return.

Saif Gadhafi was involved in negotiating for Megrahi’s release, and accompanied him back to Libya.

Give money to Mother Teresa. Give money to the SPCA. Give money to that damn Jerry Lewis Telethon. But who in their right mind would give money to a “charity” run by an insane terrorist dictator who runs a country that sits atop a giant pool of oil?

Barack Obama. That’s who.

Sacré bleu! Sarkozy tells Obama how to say “testosterone” in French

What does it say when the President of France has more testosterone than the American President of the United States? As the WSJ described the surreal scene at the UN, “At least the French President tried to sound tough, which isn’t hard when you stand next to Mr. Obama.”

You know you have a problem when the President of France is tougher than the President of the United States.
You know you have a problem when the President of France is tougher than the President of the United States.

What does it say when the President of France has more testosterone than the American President of the United States?

As the WSJ described the surreal scene at the UN, “At least the French President tried to sound tough, which isn’t hard when you stand next to Mr. Obama.” (Ouch!) After Obama used most of his United Nations speech to blather on about climate change and “a world without nuclear weapons,” Sarkozy brought him back to the real world.

Obama said, “We must never stop until we see the day when nuclear arms have been banished from the face of the earth.”

“We live in the real world, not the virtual world,” Sarkozy responded. “And the real world expects us to make decisions.”

Sarkozy continued to school Obama with more teachable moments:

“President Obama dreams of a world without weapons … but right in front of us two countries are doing the exact opposite.

“Iran since 2005 has flouted five security council resolutions. North Korea has been defying council resolutions since 1993.

“I support the extended hand of the Americans, but what good has proposals for dialogue brought the international community? More uranium enrichment and declarations by the leaders of Iran to wipe a UN member state off the map,” he continued, referring to Israel.

Talk about timing: Just as Obama wants to unilaterally lay down his nuclear arms, another inconvenient truth crops up in the form of a second Iranian nuclear facility. Seems like the last time Obama talked about disarming, the North Koreans tested another missile. Not that it fazed Obama.

Needless to say, we were shocked—shocked!—that Sarkozy’s mocking response to Obama’s utopian UN speechifying went unreported in U.S. newspapers.

Is it any wonder that newspapers continue to lose readers when they won’t even print news?

First black president called “racist” by progressive magazine

Author Toni Morrison may have called Bill Clinton our first black president, but Mellissa Harris-Lacewell, an associate professor of African-American Studies at Princeton, begs to differ. She thinks he may be a racist.

In a recent article published in the Nation Magazine she takes issues with remarks made by former President Bill Clinton on the Larry King Show.

While on the show, the former President said, “While I have devoted my life to getting rid of racism, I think this [health care] is a fight that my president and our party — this is one we need to win on the merits.” To which Harris-Lacewell remarked, “This statement required a double take. President Clinton said that he has devoted his life to getting rid of racism? And no one challenged this assertion?”

“Clinton used welfare reform and crime legislation to cement his position as a moderate ‘new’ Democrat,” she added. “Clinton’s policies made life substantially more difficult for poor black mothers and led to the incarceration of tens of thousands more black men. Repeatedly during his presidency Clinton found his way to the center by ignoring the material needs of black communities.”

She went on to say America’s First Black President “has a very checkered past involving racial innuendo, stereotypes and racialized political strategies.”

But she may as well have been speaking about America’s Second Black President.

9% of Americans apparently live in caves, don’t think they’ve seen enough of President Obama

In one of the most amazing statistics evere gleaned from a survey, a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows that 9% of Americans think they’ve seen or heard too little from President Obama during his presidency.

There's no accounting for taste. All-Obama-all-the-time isn't enough for 9% of the American people.
There's no accounting for taste. All-Obama-all-the-time isn't enough for 9% of the American people.

In one of the most amazing statistics evere gleaned from a survey, a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows that 9% of Americans think they’ve seen or heard too little from President Obama during his presidency.

This, of course, is said about the president who just completed interviews on five Sunday morning TV shows, Letterman, and spoke at the opening of the United Nations. He’s the only sitting president to have appeared live on both Letterman and Leno. He’s held more prime time press conferences than any president in history. And another survey last week showed that he’s given three times as many interviews as either of his two predecessors.

For the rational 91% of the population, the law of supply and demand has once again proven its infallibility.

“White people” should be forced to “step down…so someone else can have power”

FCC Chief Diversity Officer Mark Lloyd: “White people” should be forced to “step down…so someone else can have power.” His opinions on the First Amendment, race, power and the American system make Van Jones’ opinions seem positively mainstream.

That’s a quote from Mark Lloyd, the Federal Communications Commission’s new Chief Diversity Officer. His opinions on the First Amendment, race, power and the American system make Van Jones’ opinions seem positively mainstream.

“It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press. This freedom is all too often an exaggeration. At the very least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies.

“…the purpose of free speech is warped to protect global corporations and block rules that would promote democratic governance.”

Of course, Lloyd loves Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez’ “incredible … democratic revolution.” He also admires the way “Chavez began to take very seriously the media in his country.” Translation: Chavez closed down any media outlets that deigned to oppose him.

What’s baffling is that any president ever appointed anyone with these fringe, extreme leftist beliefs to any position in the American government.

Of course, we’ve never had a President like Barack Obama before.

Elementary school kids sing psalm to The One. Can you say “Cult of Personality?”

This video shows school children being led in a song about The One. We’re not sure which bothers us more — the introductory group chanting of the name “Barack Hussein Obama” or the fact that it’s sung to the tune of “Jesus Loves the Little Children.”

“What the hell is wrong with those paranoid conservatives? Why would they object to the president of the United States speaking to school children? His speech was inspirational.”

Blah-blah-blah. Shut up, libs.

This video shows school children being led in a song about The One. We’re not sure which bothers us more — the introductory group chanting of the name “Barack Hussein Obama” or the fact that it’s sung to the tune of “Battle Hymn of the Republic” with some lyrics from “Jesus Loves the Little Children” thrown in for good measure.

Any other questions about why conservatives didn’t want Obama speaking to their children?

Update: Song Lyrics

Song 1:
Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mm
Barack Hussein Obama

Song 2:
Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say “hooray!”

Hooray, Mr. President! You’re number one!
The first black American to lead this great nation!

Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans
To make this country’s economy number one again!

President Obama hit ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday as part of his Talk Tour 2009. Host George Stephanopoulos actually had the nerve to challenge the President. No, seriously, he did.

Stephanopoulos took the obvious position that a mandate forcing individuals to obtain health insurance coverage is a tax.

Stephanopoulos: That may be, but it’s still a tax increase.

Obama: No. That’s not true, George. The… ?for us to say that you’ve got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase. What it’s saying is, is that we’re not going to have other people carrying your burdens for you anymore than the fact that… right now everybody in America, just about, has to get auto insurance. Nobody considers that a tax increase. People say to themselves, that is a fair way to make sure that if you hit my car, that I’m not covering all the costs.

Barack Obama, The Obainable Showman

The One now believes he is The Only One who can save his floundering socialist healthcare plan. So he showed up on five networks — ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN plus Spanish-language Univision — on Sunday to pitch his leftist heart out.

Of course, the Greatest President In History did not appear on Fox Sunday, automatically eliminating himself for consideration for any future sequels to Profiles In Courage. In search of more friendly climes, he will continue his Talking Tour 2009 on Monday’s David Letterman Show.

According to Martha Joynt Kumar, a political scientist at Towson University in Maryland, Barack Obama has been one very busy President. Oh, not busy doing the actual work of a President, but busy talking. Always talking. By the time the sun sets on Sunday, he will have done 124 separate interviews during his short presidency. One hundred twenty-four.

In contrast, George Bush had done only 40 interviews and Bill Clinton had done 46 at this same point in their presidencies.

We hope ObamaCare covers Presidential Appearance Fatigue Syndrome (PAFS), because we are really getting tired of seeing this guy on televison.

John McCain finds his long-lost cojones, calls Jimmy Carter the worst president in history

What did wishy washy John McCain think of Jimmy Carter saying any animosity expressed toward Obama is racist.

“I’m deeply disturbed by those accusations because it’s an unfair and untrue commentary on the American people and for them to exercise their God-given right to disagree with this administration. It seems to me that President Carter has earned his place as if not the worst president in history, the worst president of the 20th Century.”

Hard to believe we finally agree with the man who has earned his place as if not the worst presidential candidate in history, the worst presidential candidate of the 20th Century.

President Obama has close working relationship with Rep Sheldon Bachus. Or whatever his name is.

Well, what the hell. The President can’t be expected to know the names of any Republicans. After all, he’s never really met or spoken to any of them. Which may explain why the President thought Alabama Congressman Spencer Bachus’ first name is Sheldon.

“We’ve worked closely with leaders in the Senate and the House,” President Obama said, “including not only Barney [Frank], but also Senators Chris Dodd and Richard Shelby and Barney is already working with his counterpart, Sheldon Bachus.”

“NBC featured nearly twice as much coverage of Wilson as Obama,” they noted. “NBC’s Nightly News provided 3 minutes and 2 seconds of coverage of Obama’s September 9 joint address to Congress, compared to almost twice as much coverage — 5 minutes and 47 seconds — of Wilson’s outburst during that address.”

NBC unfair to Obama? Now there’s a headline.

Media Matters even provided really cool charts that showed minute by minute coverage by the three main networks (ABC, NBC, CBS).

However, by our unscientific finger count, Media Matters had five front page stories focusing on Glenn Beck and none focused on The Greatest President In History.

We’re waiting for the angry statement from Obama accusing Media Matters of Glenn Beck bias. We won’t hold our breath.

Rasmussen Reports: Almost no one buys the theory that ObamaCare protesters are racists

Hypocrisy on parade: Democrat Pete Stark called Bush a liar twice with no rebuke

Democrats, in an effort to maintain the moral purity of the House of Representatives, want to rebuke Republican Joe Wilson for calling President Obama a liar during his speech to a Joint Session of Congress. Obama calls Kayne West a “jackass,” says nothing about ACORN scandal

Terry Moran, a reporter for ABC News, upset the White House last night when he tweeted:

“Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.”

The tweet was soon removed, but not before it spread throughout the Twitosphere.

Did President Obama really say it? If so, why was it removed from Moran’s Twitter page? Here’s how ABC later explained it:

In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.

So there’s no question that Obama said it. He just doesn’t want anyone to know he said it, because, appartnely, it’s not Presidential to call someone a jackass.

This undoubtedly explains the President’s complete silence on the ACORN scandal. It’s just wouldn’t be Presidential to call an organization “a bunch of corrupt jerks who are ripping off the American taxpayers and undermining democracy.”

Democrat Congressman thinks you’ll be itchin’ for a lynchin’ if Joe Wilson isn’t rebuked

Would we be accused of racism if we said Georgia Democrat Hank Johnson is an idiot?

Johnson is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. You know, the group that traveled to Havana last year to besar el culo de Castro. (Correct translation provided by reader Antonio).

This duly-elected Democrat fears that a failure to rebuke South Carolina Republican Joe Wilson will prompt you to get your favorite white hood and robe out of the closet and head for the nearest the Ku Klux Klan meeting, perhaps stopping along the way to lynch a few random darkies.

According to Fox News, Johnson says, “…people will be putting on white hoods and white uniforms again and riding through the countryside” if emerging racist attitudes, which he says were subtly supported by Wilson, are not rebuked. He said Wilson must be disciplined as an example.

All this because Joe Wilson had the guts to call Obama a liar — accurately, we might add — to his face.

Just our luck. Our white hoods and robes are at the dry cleaners and won’t be ready until next Monday, so we’ll probably miss the next Klan meeting. Please call us and let us know how it went.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be unlikely to receive an invitation to a reception US President Barack Obama will host in New York later this month, the White House said Thursday.

Teddy Kennedy should have sent his letter to Obama via FedEx

In his healthcare speech President Obama touted a letter he had just received from Ted Kennedy, and the ten days it took to get to the White House clearly demonstrates the folly of President Obama lauding the efficiency of the post office in a separate healthcare speech last month..

In his healthcare speech before a joint session of Congress the other night, President Obama touted a letter he had just received from Ted Kennedy in which the late Lion of the Senate called for passage of health care reform.

And that clearly demonstrates the folly of President Obama lauding the efficiency of the post office in a separate healthcare speech last month.

Kennedy died on August 25. Obama said he received the letter a few days ago. Assuming Kennedy wrote the letter before he died (seems like a relatively safe assumption) that means it took ten days for the letter to get from Boston to Washington, DC despite the fact that its just 440 miles from one to the other and driving time is 7 hours and 41 minutes.

How’s that vaunted post office efficiency working for you, President Obama? Can’t wait until those guys are in charge of healthcare, too.

Bill Maher to Obama, “Hey! I’m not crazy!”

“Maher called the White House “cowards” for allowing Van Jones to resign following a series of right-wing attacks and for capitulating to those who complained about the nature of Obama’s back-to-school speech.”

Bill “This country is so stupid” Maher is mad — really mad — and taking the Obama administration to task.

“Maher called the White House “cowards” for allowing Van Jones to resign following a series of right-wing attacks and for capitulating to those who complained about the nature of Obama’s back-to-school speech.”

Maher defended his statement saying “The Democrats just never learn. Americans don’t really care which side of an issue you’re on as long as you don’t act like pussies.”

The Huffington Post said, “Maher then criticized Obama for trying to win over those who vehemently disagree with him, insisting that the president should instead ‘stand up for the 70 percent of Americans who aren’t crazy.'”

Any right wing publication who dared refer to Democrats as (and we quote) “cowards” or (quoting again) “pussies” would be vilified by the left wing press. But since we are quoting Bill Maher as quoted in a left wing publication, what can we say?

While we agree that “Democrats are cowards” who often “act like pussies,” we are baffled by his statement that Obama should stand up for the 70 percent of Americans who aren’t crazy.

We’re not sure what polls Bill is paying attention to, or who he considers “not crazy” but we are willing to bet that he considers himself part of the 70%.

Which is all the proof you need that Bill is actually part of the 30%.

Liberals breath sigh of relief as Obama’s speech is relatively blah

Relax, libs. He didn't announce Kommunes for Kids or anything crazy like that

Once that words “God Bless America” scrolled off the president’s teleprompter on Tuesday, a mighty wind blew across the country.

It’s our guess that it was caused by a collective sigh of relief from the left. They’d been holding their breath and praying – well okay, holding their breath and wishing – that President Obama could make it through the entire speech to America’s school children without proving right wing fears justified.

It was rather hilarious, um, we mean “ironic,” that all the typical left wing news sources withheld saying anything until after it was over. Even the Huffington Post held off from posting the story “Opposing Obama’s School Speech Isn’t Partisan – It’s Just Crazy” until after the speech concluded just in case it was a little crazier than the HuffPo thought it might be.

Relief for the left is destined to be somewhat short-lived, however. Obama is scheduled to speak again tomorrow night to a rare joint session of the house.

Not knowing what the loose-lipped President might say is having a real effect on the practice of faith by progressives – who normally worship only money and power.

Rumor has it that Nancy Pelosi was seen kneeling on the House steps, but we’re sure she was just picking up loose change to help The One balance the budget.

Now the President wants to tax sugar. Can salt and pepper be far behind?

The President told Men’s Health magazine that he thinks we should consider taxing soda and other sugary drinks as part of health care reform.

There is nothing this man won't tax. Absolutely nothing.
There is nothing this man won't tax. Absolutely nothing.

Apparently the Democrats have done extensive research and discovered that only the rich consume soft drinks.

That’s the only way to reconcile the fact that he promised no new taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 per year during the campaign, yet now favors taxing soft drinks and other sugary treats.

The President told Men’s Health magazine that he thinks we should consider taxing soda and other sugary drinks as part of health care reform.

“I actually think it’s an idea that we should be exploring,” Obama said “There’s no doubt that our kids drink way too much soda. And every study that’s been done about obesity shows that there is as high a correlation between increased soda consumption and obesity as just about anything else.”

The president noted that “obviously there is resistance on Capitol Hill to those kinds of sin taxes. Legislators from certain states that produce sugar or corn syrup are sensitive to anything that might reduce demand for those products.”

First he raised taxes on cigarettes to keep people from smoking. Then he raised taxes on soft drinks to keep people from consuming sugar.

While he’s at it, maybe he should raise taxes on thinking to keep people from figuring out what he’s doing.
