Olbermann tries to bore his few remaining viewers to death

Keith Olbermann often read James Thurber to his dying father. We’re pretty sure that if we could get our hands on Dad Olbermann’s death certificate, the cause of death would be listed as “Boredom.”

Knee slappers. Real knee slappers. If by “knee slapper” you really mean stuff designed to drive viewers to the remote control.

The only possible answer for this remarkably self-indulgent presentation is that Olbermann has photos of NBC executives at that bestiality farm in Washington. The only possible answer.

Glenn Beck tells Joe Klein, “You guys used the r-word 6,500 times while Bush was president”

The libs are horrified – horrified, we tell you – that Rush Limbaugh referred to the Obama regime.

Beck points out that a simple Lexis-Nexis search shows that the words “Bush regime” were used 6,500 times while W was president.

Obviously, the r-word is now just like the n-word. It’s ok for libs to use it, but verboten for conservatives.

Australian Prime Minister gets caught doing something very, very strange

Don’t know about you, but we’ve never eaten any detrius we’ve had the misfortune of picking out of our ears.

Kevin Rudd, the Australian Prime Minister recently called smart and humble by Barack Obama, got caught doing something that doesn’t make him appear to be all that smart. Weird, but not smart.

Keep your eyes on Rudd, the guy in the upper left corner of the screen, behind the red-haired woman.

Don’t know about you, but we’ve never eaten any detrius we’ve had the misfortune of picking out of our ears.

Spitzer goes from john to whore, begins anchoring on MSNBC

Eliot Spitzer, MSNBC host. It had to happen and we are, quite frankly, embarrassed that we never predicted it.

Ashley Dupre
Our fantasy: Ashley Dupre, MSNBC weather girl

Former New York Governor and Client Number Nine Eliot Spitzer has landed himself a new gig – guest host on MSNBC. And what better place for a lying, whoring, cheating lowlife?

Spitzer and Monica Novotny co-anchored for Dylan Ratigan. Mediaite reports that, “Through several interviews based on finance, but also foreign policy and more, Spitzer held his own, was engaging – and certainly proved this may not be a random occurrence.”

You know what would be perfect? If MSNBC hired Ashley Dupre to be Spitzer’s weather girl.

“The forecast calls for chilly temperatures. So make sure you wear your socks to bed again tonight, Eliot.”

Call us Client Number Ten. Because we’d pay to see that.

Didn’t see this one coming: 60 Minutes praises President Bush

Uber liberal news magazine 60 Minutes has produced a segment that praises President George W. Bush.

Seriously. No kidding. For real.

60 Minutes actually credits George Bush with saving millions of lives in Africa thanks to his AIDS efforts. Here’s how the segment is introduced and you can view the entire segment above.

Simon: As President, George W. Bush did something momentous that few of you may know about, something so momentous that it is saving millions of lives and generating goodwill for America around the world. Millions of Africans who`d been dying of AIDS are now living with AIDS, thanks to the Bush program. The U.S. is providing pills to more than two million people with HIV/AIDS, people who could never afford them and who were condemned to die. The medicine not only saves their lives, it permits them to live full lives. We went to Uganda, where AIDS has ravaged the country, killing more than a million people. And where Doctor Peter Mugyenyi, a pioneer against AIDS, told us how grateful he is to Americans for saving his fellow Ugandans.

Mugyenyi: We thank sincerely the American people. They are the people who are saving lives. They are the people who can be proud that lives are being saved on this continent.

Of course, it’s well known that Bush developed his affinity for the Dark Continent while hiding out there to avoid serving in the National Guard.

Talk show hosts circle wagons around Oprah, won’t interview her unauthorized biographer Kitty Kelley

Larry King, Charlie Rose, David Letterman and Barbara Walters all turned thumbs down on interviews with celebrity biographer Kitty Kelly, whose unauthorized bio of Oprah will soon be released.

Kitty Kelley
The media protect their own by refusing to interview Oprah biographer Kitty Kelley

And considering Oprah’s current girth, a very wide circle it is.

Larry King, Charlie Rose, David Letterman and Barbara Walters all turned thumbs down on interviews with celebrity biographer Kitty Kelly, whose unauthorized bio of Oprah will soon be released.

Odd, one might have to conclude, considering the gleeful receptions Kelley received from those same hosts when she penned a scandalous bio of George Bush a few years ago.

Margo Howard reports the hypocritical headlines:

“… most of the kingpin interviewers in the mainstream media were astonishingly up front about saying they would not help Kitty Kelley promote her book because they didn’t want to offend Oprah! They didn’t even make up excuses; they flat-out said they didn’t want to offend Oprah. It was surprising, to say the least, that interviewers such as Larry King, Charlie Rose, David Letterman and Barbara Walters all shut her out. Walter’s turn-down was especially interesting in that she said she wouldn’t even have Kelley on “The View.” I mean, that’s a show with four or five babes nattering on, where no guest is on for more than maybe seven minutes. Walters told Random House publicity she didn’t want to “upset” Oprah. Letterman said he didn’t want to “disrupt” his détente with Oprah. And ABC, whose name might as well now stand for “All ‘Bout Cowards,” made an across-the-board decision that Kelley’s book would be boycotted by all ABC shows. Even second-tier people like Joy Behar followed suit. And Rachael Ray! A cooking show, no less.

Much to our surprise, Kelley has booked an appearance in one unexpected place.

… To their credit, the top show for people flogging books, “The Today Show,” will be Kitty’s first publicity stop when the book is released. Bill O’Reilly will be the second. I find all this really interesting. What is it, I wonder, that has major television people so afraid of Oprah? It is a question whose answer I look forward to finding in Kelley’s book. I will get back to you when I’ve read it.

To his credit, Matt Lauer actually gave Kelley a pretty good grilling when she appeared on the Today Show to hype her bio of George Bush.

Our advice? Don’t bother with Lauer and the Today Show. Wait until Kelley appears on Fox.

How bad are things at CNN when they turn to MSNBC’s David Shuster for ratings salvation?

The New York Times Media Decoder blog has the details of Shuster’s disturbing disloyalty:

David Shuster, an anchor on MSNBC, recently participated in a test of a new show. But not for his own network.

MSNBC executives were highly displeased when they learned about his test for the competing news channel CNN through a New York Observer article Friday morning, and they are now contemplating their response.

“If true, this is unacceptable and David will be punished appropriately,” an MSNBC spokesman, Jeremy Gaines, said Friday afternoon.

Reached for comment, Mr. Shuster referred the call to his agent and said he could not confirm or deny the Observer report.

The Observer said CNN’s “in-house team shot a pilot for a news show featuring David Shuster of MSNBC and Michel Martin of NPR as co-anchors.”

Mr. Shuster is under contract to MSNBC, raising questions about the appropriateness of the CNN pilot. Two people with knowledge of Mr. Shuster’s contract said it is set to expire at the end of this year. They requested anonymity because Mr. Shuster and MSNBC would not comment on the contract’s length.

Now we’re no David Shuster fans, but we actually think CNN could do a lot worse that hiring the bellicose Shuster. In fact, MSNBC is already doing a lot worse.

CNN reporter thinks all black men anchors look alike

Rick Sanchez had the day off and T.J. Holmes was filling in for him when correspondent Jeanne Meserve did a live report. Problem is, Meserve couldn’t tell the difference between Holmes and Don Lemon, CNN’s other black anchor.

Olbermann takes off month of March, his show gets higher ratings without him

At what point do the geniuses up in the executive suites at MSNBC look at the latest ratings and ask themselves the reasonable question, “Why are we paying Olbermann $7 million a year?”

olbermann ratings
Uh-oh. Looks like Olbermann rantings do not translate to Olbermann ratings

At what point do the geniuses up in the executive suites at MSNBC look at the latest ratings and ask themselves the reasonable question, “Why are we paying Olbermann $7 million a year?”

We call it reasonable because Olbermann’s Countdown show got higher ratings while he was off the air.

MediaBistro reports the bad news for the oleaginous Olbermann:

As we reported, yesterday was Keith Olbermann’s official return to MSNBC after being away for more than a month. And with the March ratings period now complete (it ended Sunday), Olbermann’s substitute host, Lawrence O’Donnell, helped give “Countdown” its best month of the quarter, but still down — 21% — compared to March ’09.

Admittedly, “higher” ratings is a relative term at the ratings-challenged network. And a 21% increase doesn’t translate to a lot of additional viewers.

Nevertheless, think of all the additional limos and champagne and caviar the MSNBC execs could afford to buy if they weren’t paying Olbermann’s exorbitant salary. And don’t think they’re not thinking the same thing.

Viva La France? Peut-être non (maybe not)

France is reeling from a documentary about a psychological experiment disguised as a game show. The fictitious game show had all the trappings of a real TV quiz show, including a beautiful and well-known hostess, and a raucous audience. A group of contestants posed questions to a man sitting inside a box in front of them in an electric chair.

Only the most despicable nation on earth (read the United States) would do something as horrible as waterboarding terrorists. Especially with a flimsy excuse like “Maybe we can get information to keep them from blowing up more buildings and killing more innocent people.”

But as we’ve been told by President Obama, great nations don’t torture.

Take France, or example. Now there’s a civilized nation. They don’t torture people unless it’s for a really good reason. Like maybe winning a TV game show.

According to NPR, “France is reeling from a documentary about a psychological experiment disguised as a game show. The fictitious game show had all the trappings of a real TV quiz show, including a beautiful and well-known hostess, and a raucous audience. A group of contestants posed questions to a man sitting inside a box in front of them in an electric chair.”

The players were urged by both the hostess and audience to send shocks into the man in the box when he gave a wrong answer.

Even when the player screamed out in pain, begging them to stop, 80% of the contestants continued zapping him.

Oh, No Canada!

According to Cole, the Canadians are simply trying to develop a “safe place to think and learn” and she doesn’t feel “Ann Coulter contributes to” such an environment. In other words, this safe place to think and learn does not include thinking and learning about conservative points of view.

Think of us as equal opportunity haters, because we hate the Canadian media, too. Here’s why.

Susan Cole, a Canadian communist columnist explains to Megyn Kelly on Fox News that it’s good to stop Ann Coulter’s potential hate speech by massing protesters and threatening physical violence.

So not only are Canadians suffering through nationalized health care, they have to deal with the freaking liberal media also.
