We’re not sure what Matthews thought Obama may have become, since he’s constantly reminded us for the last year that Obama is America’s first black president and that’s the only reason conservatives don’t like him. But that’s what the MSNBC host said.
We’re just trying to imagine how Matthews would have howled if, say, Rush Limbaugh had made the same statement.
Once again, President Obama has done the unprecedented. During last night’s State of the Union Address, he attacked the Supreme Court.
Once again, President Obama has done the unprecedented. During last night’s State of the Union Address, he attacked the Supreme Court.
“With all due deference to separation of powers,” Obama said, “last week the Supreme Court reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates to special interests including foreign corporations to spend without limit in our elections.
At that point Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito frowned, shook his head, channeled South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson and mouthed the words, “That’s not true,” which is highly-complex legal terminology that means “You lie.”
“I don’t think America’s elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests. Or worse, by foreign entities,” Obama continued. “They should be decided by the American people. And I’d urge Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps correct that.”
You’re right about that, President Obama. We wouldn’t want those evil foreign entities determining American elections.
So we’re sure you’ll do everything you can to make sure George Soros butts the hell out. And while you’re at it, maybe you can convince all those Chinese waiters to stop giving cash to Hillary.
Rush Limbaugh caught all kinds of flak when he said America would never elect Hillary Clinton because it didn’t want to see a woman get old. At least he didn’t say America would never elect Hillary Clinton because it didn’t want to see her get cross-eyed.

Here’s one photo that demonstrates both sad fates.
Damn it. Now what’s CNN going to do with all that stationery that says “The Most Trusted Name In News”?
The chant goes up at CNN: "We're number two! We're number two! We're number two!"
Damn it. Now what’s CNN going to do with all that stationery that says “The Most Trusted Name In News”?
Politico reports a survey that’s nothing but bad news for the original cable news network:
A Public Policy Polling nationwide survey of 1,151 registered voters Jan. 18-19 found that 49 percent of Americans trusted Fox News, 10 percentage points more than any other network.
Thirty-seven percent said they didn’t trust Fox, also the lowest level of distrust that any of the networks recorded.
There was a strong partisan split among those who said they trusted Fox — with 74 percent of Republicans saying they trusted the network, while only 30 percent of Democrats said they did.
CNN was the second-most-trusted network, getting the trust of 39 percent of those polled. Forty-one percent said they didn’t trust CNN.
Each of the three major networks was trusted by less than 40 percent of those surveyed, with NBC ranking highest at 35 percent. Forty-four percent said they did not trust NBC, which was combined with its sister cable station MSNBC.
Thirty-two percent of respondents said they trusted CBS, while 31 percent trusted ABC. Both CBS and ABC were not trusted by 46 percent of those polled.
The White House is expected to dispute the validity of the survey because, of course, Fox is not a real news network and, therefore, couldn’t possibly be trusted by anyone.
Democrat Senator Tom Udall “…introduced a resolution on Monday that would give the Senate the ability to vote on its own rules and regulations every two years….such as the rule that 60 votes are needed to end debate on legislation. In short: the filibuster could be drastically changed from its current incarnation.”
Jimmy Stewart could teach the Republicans a thing or two about conducting a filibuster.
The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly submitted a rule change to the NFL asking that interceptions thrown by a legendary quarterback not count. They may have gotten the idea from the Democratic party’s move to eliminate the filibuster.
Democrat Senator Tom Udall “…introduced a resolution on Monday that would give the Senate the ability to vote on its own rules and regulations every two years….such as the rule that 60 votes are needed to end debate on legislation. In short: the filibuster could be drastically changed from its current incarnation.”
But what have the Democratic leaders said about the filibuster in the past?
In his 2008 book “The Good Fight”, Harry Reid compared lowering the filibuster threshold to “opening Pandora’s Box.”
“It was just a matter of time before a Senate leader who couldn’t get his way on something moved to eliminate the filibuster for regular business,” Reid wrote. “And that, simply put, would be the end of the United States Senate”
But Reid is far from the only prominent Democrat now in danger of having to eat his own words.
“The American people want less partisanship in this town,” then Senator Obama said in a 2005 speech, “but everyone in this chamber knows that if the majority chooses to end the filibuster — if they choose to change the rules and put an end to democratic debate — then the fighting and the bitterness and the gridlock will only get worse,” Obama said in the April 2005 speech in Washington.”
Unfortunately for the left, changing the filibuster rules will have zero effect on what’s really preventing the Democrats from passing any meaningful legislation. Because they are their own biggest problem.
As the old saying goes, “You can’t legislate away stupidity.”
President Barack Obama is pledging to tackle the nation’s spiraling deficit immediately. So long as immediately means after the November elections.
President Obama sticks his finger in the air to see which way the political winds are blowing
President Barack Obama is pledging to tackle the nation’s spiraling deficit immediately. So long as immediately means after the November elections.
According to Politico, Obama endorsed legislation to create an independent commission that would create deficit-reduction steps for Congress.
But the move comes so late in the game that that he fears it might seen as a ploy to shore up support for fiscally moderate Democrats. Rest assured that’s only because it’s a ploy to shore up support for fiscally moderate Democrats.
(It should be noted that fiscally moderate Democrats are only Marxists, not Marxist-Leninists.)
As the president points out, “These deficits did not happen overnight, and they won’t be solved overnight.” And, apparently, they won’t even start to be solved until after the elections.
We didn’t realize it until we watched this compilation of Obama’s comments on healthcare, but his mantra has gone from “Yes We Can” to “We’re gonna get this thing done.”
Is it just us or is he starting to sound a lot like Larry the Cable Guy?

Rep Marion Berry says Barack Obama said this: ‘Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.’ We’re going to see how much difference that makes now.”
Another Democrat Congressman announced his retreat retirement yesterday.
But Arkansas’ Rep. Marion Berry didn’t go out quietly. He says he warned President Obama that 2010 could be a bloodbath like 1994 for Democrats and he was shocked by the President’s narcissistic response.
According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette:
Berry recounted meetings with White House officials, reminiscent of some during the Clinton days, where he and others urged them not to force Blue Dogs “off into that swamp” of supporting bills that would be unpopular with voters back home.
“I’ve been doing that with this White House, and they just don’t seem to give it any credibility at all,” Berry said. “They just kept telling us how good it was going to be. The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, ‘Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.’ We’re going to see how much difference that makes now.”
Got that? President Obama, whose approval ratings are in the toilet, whose personal appeals to voters in New Jersey, Virginia, and Massachusetts were worthless, who has foisted this hugely unpopular socialist agenda on the people of the United States, actually thinks his personal charisma will get Democrats elected in 2010.
It’s perfect that on the day this story comes out that the White House should release this photo of Barack Obama admiring himself in a mirror.
Overall, 44% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. That’s down four points since Tuesday morning and matches the lowest level of overall approval yet recorded for this President.
“I’m down. I’m Really down. I’m down. Down on the ground. I’m down. I’m really down. How can you laugh when you know I’m down?”
Rasmussen reports the latest on President Obama’s hope and change:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmsTT9bvWIg “Overall, 44% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. That’s down four points since Tuesday morning and matches the lowest level of overall approval yet recorded for this President. Fifty-five percent (55%) of voters now disapprove. The number of Democrats who approve has fallen from 84% on Tuesday morning to 78% today.”
Uh-oh. We’re running out of “down” songs, but we suspect we’ll need a few more in the coming months.
The once much-revered British Broadcasting Corporation has not only gone to the dogs, it’s now gone ape.
The once much-revered British Broadcasting Corporation has not only gone to the dogs, it’s now gone ape.
The world’s first film shot entirely by chimpanzees is to be broadcast by the BBC as part of a natural history documentary.
The apes created the movie using a specially designed chimp-proof camera given to them by primatologists.
The film-making exercise is part of a scientific study into how chimpanzees perceive the world and each other.
It will be screened within the Natural World programme “Chimpcam” shown on BBC Two at 2000GMT on Wednesday 27 January.
Making the movie was the brainchild of primatologist Ms Betsy Herrelko, who is studying for a PhD in primate behaviour at the University of Stirling, UK.
Ratings-challenged MSNBC is reportedly in negotiations to give the chimps their own nightly primetime show, although industry experts say the primates may be too intelligent to fit in with the rest of the network’s programming.
There’s nothing unusual about finding left wing crappola in Newsweek, so the article “Is The Tea Party Over?” hardly took us by surprise. Until we realized who wrote it.
Who is Newsweek's mysterious liberal writer?
There’s nothing unusual about finding left wing crappola in Newsweek, so the article “Is The Tea Party Over?” hardly took us by surprise.
It describes tea party members as “Veterans, deeply suspicious of the young liberal president and embittered, ironically, by Congress’s failure to keep its promise to give them government-run health care for life….gun-rights activists, who believed that their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms was being put at risk by Barack Obama” and “The faces of talk-show fans, pushed into action by the apocalyptic warnings of personalities like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. Those two right-wing talkers had spent the past year telling listeners that the Democratic president was a racist who somehow managed to find the time also to be a Nazi and a communist.”
Talk about your crazy left-wing journalists. This guy sounded as if he was channeling Janet Napolitano and her fear of ‘military veterans’ who are “deeply suspicious” of “the young liberal president.”
Imagine our shock to find out that the article was written by Joe Scarborough. You know the “conservative” guy on MSNBC’s Morning Joe show? Not sure how to break this to you Joe, but most conservatives really seem to like our veterans, thank you very much.
Joe says the tea-party movement, which “should be celebrating its Massachusetts miracle, the collapse of health-care reform, and the destruction of the Democrats’ filibuster-proof majority” is instead “at the very moment … at risk of tearing itself apart.”
Scarborough used the rest of the article to criticize Glenn Beck, which is apparently a part of any MSNBC anchor’s contract and also part of a contest among all anchors on the network each month to decide who gets the best parking spot.
We’re not blaming Scarborough for the loss of his mind to liberal bias. In addition to working at MSNBC, he also spent six years in Congress.
We suspect that the combination of the two is more than even the strongest mind can endure.
Let this be a warning to you, O’Reilly. Just because Air America has gone belly up and just because conservatives are on the ascendancy and just because Fox has huge ratings, that’s no reason to think things are ok, says Dennis Kucinich. The libs are always out there dangling the threat of the Fairness Doctrine over conservatives’ heads.

Kucinich: You know what? Be careful, Bill, about crowing about your success right now because people are going to start calling for the Fairness Doctrine to come back if they feel their point of view is not being adequately represented.
Oh, that madcap Dennis Kucinich. What a cut-up. What a card. Someone get this guy a newspaper so he can read about the election in Massachusetts last week.

Ladies and gentlemen, we proudly present one minute and twenty-five seconds of lunacy.
Chris Wallace was as incredulous as you’ll be when you hear White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs try to spin Massachusetts’ election of Scott Brown.
Has there ever been a White House press secretary as smarmy as this guy?
John Ratzenberger, the actor who played know-it-all postman Cliff Claven on Cheers, is an outspoken supporter of Republican Scott Brown. Here’s what he said about the Democrat party at a Brown rally on Sunday.
John Ratzenberger, the actor who played know-it-all postman Cliff Claven on Cheers, is an outspoken supporter of Republican Scott Brown.
Here’s what he said about the Democrat party at a Brown rally on Sunday:
“This isn’t the Democratic party of our fathers and grandfathers. This is the party of Woodstock hippies. I was at Woodstock — I built the stage. And when everything fell apart, and people were fighting for peanut butter sandwiches, it was the National Guard who came in and saved the same people who were protesting them. So when Hillary Clinton a few years ago wanted to build a Woodstock memorial, I said it should be a statue of a National Guardsman feeding a crying hippie.”
With that in mind, enjoy a little Jimi Hendrix, probably the only conservative on the stage at Woodstock, playing his psychedelic version of the national anthem. (Yeah, we realize you might not like this version, but none of the other drugged-out losers at that freak show would ever have considered playing it).
You just know you’re in for some big laughs when a Media Matters article starts out like this: “Not content with its lapdog coverage of President Bush over the past decade, the Beltway press has adopted a new, super-soft way to deal with Bush’s former vice president, Dick Cheney, as well as GOP media star Sarah Palin.
You just know you’re in for some big laughs when a Media Matters article starts out like this:
“Not content with its lapdog coverage of President Bush over the past decade, the Beltway press has adopted a new, super-soft way to deal with Bush’s former vice president, Dick Cheney, as well as GOP media star Sarah Palin. Journalists have set aside what had been decades’ worth of guidelines and embraced special new rules for how Cheney and Palin get treated.”
It seems that the author Eric Boehlert is upset that Sarah Palin “Hasn’t allowed herself to be interviewed by a single independent political journalist since she launched her book in November. Instead, she mostly communicates with the mainstream media via Facebook. And now that she’s signed on to join the Fox News staff, the chances of Palin ever speaking with the serious press seem to be less than zero. That lack of openness stacks the deck and leads to dreadful bouts of stenography; of literally recording what controversial Republicans say, and nothing more.”
Yes, of course, the media has treated Palin so kindly that she ought to sign up for all kinds of interviews because we’re sure you are really interested in openness.
Dick Cheney also get’s nothing but love from the media and a super-soft treatment? Well that explains the 5,000 times that the MSM replayed Alan Grayson’s distasteful remarks about “blood dripping from Dick Cheney’s teeth” doesn’t it?
The Media Matters article ends with the bizarre claim that “The press has never cared what a former VP had to say about current events… or what a failed VP candidate had to say just months after losing.” And “Traditionally, pundits and reporters disdain political losers … But for Cheney and Palin, the rules have been generously reworked.”
Hmmmm, let’s see here. Isn’t Al Gore a former Vice President and a political loser? We would have sworn that pundits and reporters pay an inordinate amount of attention to his global warming weather crap.
But we must be wrong. Because Media Matters says so.
The whole “jobs created or saved” storyline created by the White House was silly to begin with. But it becomes even funnier when Obama sends his advisors out to talk it up on the Sunday talk shows and they quote wildly different numbers.
The whole “jobs created or saved” storyline created by the White House was silly to begin with. But it becomes even funnier when Obama sends his advisors out to talk it up on the Sunday talk shows and they quote wildly different numbers.
Politico.com reports:
The discrepancy was pointed out by a Republican official in an email to reporters noting that “Three presidential advisers on three different programs [gave] three different descriptions of the trillion-dollar stimulus bill.”
Valerie Jarrett had the most conservative count, saying “the Recovery Act saved thousands and thousands of jobs,” while David Axelrod gave the bill the most credit, saying it has “created more than – or saved more than 2 million jobs.” Press Secretary Robert Gibbs came in between them, saying the plan had “saved or created 1.5 million jobs.”
We know three jobs that shouldn’t be saved and never should have been created.
President Obama recently visited sixth grade students at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Virginia to talk about his “Race to the Top” program. The Greatest Orator In History couldn’t talk to them without his trusty Teleprompter at his side.
Embarrassing? Pathetic? Sad? Choose your own word to describe this story.
President Obama recently visited sixth grade students at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Virginia to talk about his “Race to the Top” program.
The Greatest Orator In History couldn’t talk to them without his trusty Teleprompter at his side.
The White House has since released raw video that supposedly proves the President didn’t use his Teleprompter. Unfortunately, the raw video ends just as the President finished shaking hands with all the students and before he made any remarks, so it neither proves nor disproves anything.
UPDATE: The video embedded in this story proves now pretty conclusively that the ol’ Teleprompter was used. No question that President Obama is going back and forth from one Teleprompter screen to the other as he speaks to the tykes.
Despite CNN’s non-stop coverage of the continued horror in Haiti, the left wing network found time to ask this burning question, “Has Obama lost France as an ally?”
Former BAFs (Best Amis Forever) in happier times
Despite CNN’s non-stop coverage of the continued horror in Haiti, the left wing network found time to ask this burning question, “Has Obama lost France as an ally?”
According to CNN, “President Nicolas Sarkozy called the new president ‘my buddy’ and tried urgently to be the first world leader to meet with him…” but “…after a year in office, France’s honeymoon with Obama seems clearly over.”
In case you’re wondering how anyone could dislike the Greatest President In History, especially since the left is constantly reminding us of how much the world loves us now that The One has come, the article gives at least three reasons:
1. “First there were published reports that Sarkozy didn’t think Obama knew his briefing books during the G-20 economic summit.”
2. “Then came widespread sniping along official corridors here that Obama was not measuring up when dealing with world leaders, like Russia’s Dimitri Medvedev.”
3. “And then members of Sarkozy’s government openly complained about how long it was taking Obama to make up his mind about Afghanistan.”
But just to make sure that we know who is really to blame, CNN asks the penetrating question, “So one year on, has President Obama, like his predecessor George W. Bush, lost France as an ally?”
Damn that George Bush. He probably caused the loss in Massachusetts, too.
