A few years back, some wit asked the question, “What’s the world coming to when the biggest golfer in the world is black, the biggest rapper in the world is white, and the biggest guy in the NBA is Chinese?”
Tiger Woods, Eminem and Yao Ming have all hit on hard times since that observation was first made, but worry not because nature abhors a vacuum and the Democrats have come up with a couple equally unlikely occurrences:
“Most of the indicted militia members accused of being anti-government extremists have active voting records, a check with area voter registration offices showed yesterday. One is a registered Democrat, and the party affiliations of the rest could not be determined. Jacob J. Ward, 33, of Huron, Ohio, voted as a Democrat in the 2004 and 2008 primary elections.”
Story #2: 40% of Tea Partiers are Democrats or Independents
The national breakdown of the Tea Party composition is 57 percent Republican, 28 percent Independent and 13 percent Democratic, according to three national polls by the Winston Group, a Republican-leaning firm that conducted the surveys on behalf of an education advocacy group. Two-thirds of the group call themselves conservative, 26 are moderate and 8 percent say they are liberal.
You know those dangerous, violent Tea Partiers that the democrats keep talking about? We think we’ve figured out who they are – other Democrats.
Republican Brian Sandoval now leads Rory Reid by 21 points in Nevada’s race for governor, but even embattled GOP incumbent Jim Gibbons has moved into a virtual tie with the Democratic hopeful.
Rory Reid looks like his father, but lacks his trademark charisma
The morning of November 3, 2010 will not be a happy one in the homes of any Nevada Democrats cursed with the last name Reid.
Rasmussen reveals the sad news for Harry Reid’s son Rory:
Republican Brian Sandoval now leads Rory Reid by 21 points in Nevada’s race for governor, but even embattled GOP incumbent Jim Gibbons has moved into a virtual tie with the Democratic hopeful.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in Nevada shows Sandoval, a former state attorney general and judge, now leading Reid 55% to 34%. A month ago, the GOP frontrunner was ahead by 18 points, 53% to 35%. Six percent (6%) prefer some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided.
But Reid also now trails his two other top GOP rivals. His father, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, continues to struggle against his three top Republican opponents in the state’s U.S. Senate race.
Mike Montandon, the mayor of North Las Vegas, posts a 45% to 38% lead over Rory Reid, currently chairman of the influential Clark County Board of Commissioners. Given that match-up, nine percent (9%) like some other candidate, and eight percent (8%) are undecided. In March, Montandon had a 42% to 37% lead.
Gibbons, whose unpopularity is attested to by the challenges for the governor nomination within his own party, now edges Reid 45% to 43%, after trailing the Democrat by eight points a month ago. Eight percent (8%) want some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided.
Nice to see that Rory Reid is following in his father’s footsteps.

Who’s the guy in #26 jersey directly behind home plate who turns his back on Obama during the pitch.
Yeah, pretty much everyone has shown this video of President Obama throwing a like a girl tossing out the first pitch at the National’s game.
But we’re far more interested in the guy in the first row directly behind home plate who turns his back on Obama during the pitch. The guy wearing the #26 jersey.
Is he making a silent protest against the President’s policies? Or is he a secret service agent keeping an eye on the crowd? Or is there another answer?
Blanche Lincoln, Arkansas’ Democrat Senator, is quickly learning the price of her vote in favor of ObamaCare. The latest poll show that she’s trailing five – count ‘em, five – different Republicans.
Senator Blanche Lincoln will soon be former Senator Blanche Lincoln
Blanche Lincoln, Arkansas’ Democrat Senator, is quickly learning the price of her vote in favor of ObamaCare. The latest poll show that she’s trailing five – count ‘em, five – different Republicans.
In fact, it looks like she could lose to pretty much anyone who doesn’t have a “D” after their name. Look for members of the Whig and Bullmoose parties to throw their hats into the wide open ring.
Rasmussen reports the depressing Democrat details:
Four of Arkansas Senator Blanche Lincoln’s Republican opponents now earn more than 50% of the vote as her path to reelection grows even steeper.
The numbers are closer when Lieutenant Governor Bill Halter is the Democrat in the race, but only because there are more undecided voters.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Arkansas, where opposition to the national health care plan is even higher than it is nationally, finds both Democrats stuck in the mid-30s. This suggests that the race continues to be more anti-Democrat in tone than pro-Republican.
Congressman John Boozman, State Senate Republican leader Kim Hendren, State Senator Gilbert Baker and former State Senator Jim Holt all earn 51% of the vote against Lincoln. She in turn picks up 36% support against three of the GOP hopefuls and 35% when matched against Holt.
A fifth Republican, businessman Curtis Coleman, leads Lincoln 48% to 36%.
In every case, the Republicans have gained support, while Lincoln, who earned 38% to 41% in the match-ups last month, has lost ground. Now her numbers are back to the lows she experienced in February.
Bye bye, Blanche. Don’t let the door hit you in the rotunda on the way out.
The other day on Morning Joe, Gayle King knew she wasn’t going to like the results of a new poll that showed the public prefers Republicans over Democrats, so she asked Mika not to read them on the air.
We’ve never understood why Gayle King is a celebrity except that her resume contains one very important job – Oprah Winfrey’s best friend.
Nevertheless, King shows up here and there to pontificate in ways that only Oprah’s best friend would be allowed to get away with.
The other day on Morning Joe, for example, King knew she wasn’t going to like the results of a new poll that showed the public prefers Republicans over Democrats, so she asked Mika not to read them on the air.
“Every time he speaks,” King concluded, “I get inspired all over again.”
Hey, whaddaya know. We have something in common with Oprah Winfrey’s best friend.
Every time we hear Obama speak, we’re also inspired.
How bad are things at CNN when they turn to MSNBC’s David Shuster for ratings salvation? The New York Times Media Decoder blog has the details of Shuster’s disturbing disloyalty.
CNN wants to recreate the ratings magic that got David Shuster demoted at MSNBC
How bad are things at CNN when they turn to MSNBC’s David Shuster for ratings salvation?
The New York Times Media Decoder blog has the details of Shuster’s disturbing disloyalty:
David Shuster, an anchor on MSNBC, recently participated in a test of a new show. But not for his own network.
MSNBC executives were highly displeased when they learned about his test for the competing news channel CNN through a New York Observer article Friday morning, and they are now contemplating their response.
“If true, this is unacceptable and David will be punished appropriately,” an MSNBC spokesman, Jeremy Gaines, said Friday afternoon.
Reached for comment, Mr. Shuster referred the call to his agent and said he could not confirm or deny the Observer report.
The Observer said CNN’s “in-house team shot a pilot for a news show featuring David Shuster of MSNBC and Michel Martin of NPR as co-anchors.”
Mr. Shuster is under contract to MSNBC, raising questions about the appropriateness of the CNN pilot. Two people with knowledge of Mr. Shuster’s contract said it is set to expire at the end of this year. They requested anonymity because Mr. Shuster and MSNBC would not comment on the contract’s length.
Now we’re no David Shuster fans, but we actually think CNN could do a lot worse that hiring the bellicose Shuster. In fact, MSNBC is already doing a lot worse.
After watching Congressmen Hank Johnson and Phil Hare last week, we were pretty much convinced that evolution had reversed itself and that man was descending back to ape.
The odd-looking missing link will reportedly be dubbed homo nostrilitis
Despite the fact that we are highly-trained paleontologists and human evolutionary experts, we’re going to leave this story to the Telegraph UK:
The new species of hominid, the evolutionary branch of primates that includes humans, is to be revealed when the two-million-year-old skeleton of a child is unveiled this week.
Scientists believe the almost-complete fossilised skeleton belonged to a previously-unknown type of early human ancestor that may have been a intermediate stage as ape-men evolved into the first species of advanced humans, Homo habilis.
Experts who have seen the skeleton say it shares characteristics with Homo habilis, whose emergence 2.5 million years ago is seen as a key stage in the evolution of our species.
The new discovery could help to rewrite the history of human evolution by filling in crucial gaps in the scientific knowledge.
Most fossilised hominid remains are little more than scattered fragments of bone, so the discovery of an almost-complete skeleton will allow scientists to answer key questions about what our early ancestors looked like and when they began walking upright on two legs.
Palaeontologists and human evolutionary experts behind the discovery have remained silent about the exact details of what they have uncovered, but the scientific community is already abuzz with anticipation of the announcement of the find when it is made on Thursday.
The skeleton was found by Professor Lee Berger, from the University of the Witwatersrand, while exploring cave systems in the Sterkfontein region of South Africa, near Johannesburg, an area known as “the Cradle of Humanity”.
This is excellent news. Because after watching Congressmen Hank Johnson and Phil Hare last week, we were pretty much convinced that evolution had reversed itself and that man was descending back to ape.
You are all a bunch of sad, racist little haters who stand against our President because he’s not white. Everything else is smoke and mirrors at the core you hate him because he’s Black. period. End of story.
Ahhh, you know you’re doing something right when you can generate this kind of love from the libs:

You are all a bunch of sad, racist little haters who stand against our President because he’s not white. Everything else is smoke and mirrors at the core you hate him because he’s Black. period. End of story.
Fortunately the vast Majority of Americans are better than you and we will continue to grow and prosper while you and the hate you so readily embody will die out like typewriters as a thing of the past.
Thank you. That you very much. We’ll be here all week.

Barack Obama filled out his family’s census form Monday, but could be in a heap of trouble for falsifying information.
The Harvard-educated President seems to have intentionally overlooked his caucasian mother’s contribution to his racial makeup and checked only one box – the one that said “Black, African Am., or Negro”.
The Population Reference Bureau says:
The 2010 Census continues the option first introduced in the 2000 Census for respondents to choose more than one race.
The law states that fines of up to $500 may be assessed for submitting false information, so we expect Attorney General Eric Holder to come knocking on the White House door any day now.
In other news, Obama’s Alzheimers condition will not be covered under new health care plan.
Rick Sanchez had the day off and T.J. Holmes was filling in for him when correspondent Jeanne Meserve did a live report. Problem is, Meserve couldn’t tell the difference between Holmes and Don Lemon, CNN’s other black anchor.
Just imagine if this had happened on Fox News. The libs would once again be howling the word “raaaaaaaacist.”
Rick Sanchez had the day off and T.J. Holmes was filling in for him when correspondent Jeanne Meserve did a live report. Problem is, Meserve couldn’t tell the difference between Holmes and Don Lemon, CNN’s other black anchor.
Holmes attempted to laugh about it after the incident by saying, “Yes, I’m T.J. It’s alright. She knows who I am. It’s okay.”
It’s an easy mistake to make. Kind of like we watch CNN and sometimes think we’re watching MSNBC. You know how it is when they all look alike.
Let’s see, Air America broadcast the most toxic programming in the history of radio. They stole money from a children’s charity. They stiffed their own employees for wages and benefits. And then they went bankrupt. Twice. Well, they’re out of business now, so there’s nothing more Air America can possibly do to hurt anyone. Not so fast.

Not so fast.
Turns out the bankruptcy administrator is now selling off Air America’s “not be divulged to any third party” newsletter list and calling it “intellectual property.”
Here, from David R. Malt & Co.’s 435-item listing for the Air America bankruptcy auction, is the relevant portion highlighted in yellow.
It appears that Obama’s approval ratings in Indonesia are following the same trajectory they’re following in the United States.
About as well, we’d say, as that hope and change thing is working out here in the United States.
You might remember back in 2007 when candidate Barack Obama, said, “Instead of retreating from the world, I will personally lead a new chapter of American engagement. It is time to offer the world a message of hope to counter the prophets of hate. My experience has brought me to the hopeless places. As a boy, I lived in Indonesia and played barefoot with children who could not dream the same dreams that I did.”
Maybe we misinterpreted the speech. We thought he was talking about the Muslim world when he talked about “the hopeless places.” Subsequent events indicate that he may have been talking about Detroit.
Based on the Washington Post article above, it appears that Obama’s approval ratings in Indonesia are following the same trajectory they’re following in the United States.
Pakistan: Dozen of media persons have been subjected to the horrible torture by doctors in the presence of police at Jinnah Hospital.
Take two aspirin and call someone who gives a damn in the morning.
Hey, you American media people should just read this story and consider yourselves damn lucky.
The report comes in from Pakistan’s GEO TV:
Dozen of media persons have been subjected to the horrible torture by doctors in the presence of police at Jinnah Hospital here on Wednesday.
Tension began when media persons went to hospital to cover a demonstration staged by the relative of 60-year-old patient, who died due to alleged negligence of the doctor.
The doctors became annoyed when journalists asked them the reason for the death of patient while instead of answering the question, they started beating the media persons.
According to Geo correspondent Faisal Karim, media persons were invited for talks at the hospital’s conference room, where they were beaten again both by the doctors and police.
Faisal said he was also among the journalists, who were also severely beaten by the doctors-turned-rioters.
Rioting doctors? Thanks to ObamaCare, we’re only a couple steps away from that in the United States.
Much as we would like to follow the Pakistani doctors’ example and beat Keith Olberamm silly, we will refrain. We think he suffers far more pain when people laugh at him.
Easter eggs aren’t the only thing that are going to roll at the WhiteHouse today. We expect heads to roll, too, when David Axelrod discovers that these lovely Barack Obama-inspired eggs were available, yet not used.
Easter eggs aren’t the only thing that are going to roll at the WhiteHouse today. We expect heads to roll, too, when David Axelrod discovers that these lovely Barack Obama-inspired eggs were available, yet not used.
This year, the White House went with Easter eggs that were “made from paperboard that contains no wood fibers from endangered forests, is recyclable and features vegetable-oil based inks and a water-based coating. What’s more, they’ll come in purple, pink, green and yellow and feature the stamped signatures of both President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.”
Stamped autographs? That’s it? No 21st century American kid is ever going to be indoctrinated inspired by a lousy water-colored egg with a phony stamped autograph.
So in the future, expect David Axelrod to demand that these Obama design eggs be used at all White House Easter Egg Rolls.
After all, what better way for children to learn the true meaning of Easter than to roll eggs emblazoned with the image of the one true God.

The Local brings us the cold, hard facts:
Germans are losing their fear of climate change, according to a survey, with just 42 percent worried about global warming.
It seems the long and chilly winter has taken its toll on climate change sensibilities despite the fact that weather has nothing to do with climate.
The latest figure is a clear drop from the 62 percent of Germans who said they were scared of such changes just in autumn 2006.
The new survey, carried out by polling company Infratest for Der Spiegel magazine, showed a quarter of those questioned thought Germany would profit from climate change rather than be badly affected by it.
Many people have little faith in the information and prognosis of climate researchers with a third questioned in the survey not giving them much credence. This is thought to be largely due to mistakes and exaggerations recently discovered in a report of the intergovernmental panel on climate change, the IPCC.
And in other news, a German cold front is set to invade Poland this weekend.

“It just happened last week! It’s only been a week! Can you imagine if some of these reporters were working on a farm and you planted some seeds and they came out next day and they looked — ‘Nothing’s happened! There’s no crop! We’re going to starve! Oh no! It’s a disaster!’ It’s been a week, folks.”
Might we note that there’s one thing farming and ObamaCare have in common: Liberal amounts of bullshit are required to make either one succeed.
One, the media is so busy making up phony conservative-on-liberal violence that they completely overlook authentic liberal-on-conservative violence. Consider this convincing evidence of liberal media bias.
There are two very important lessons to be learned from this video clip.
One, the media is so busy making up phony conservative-on-liberal violence that they completely overlook authentic liberal-on-conservative violence. Consider this convincing evidence of liberal media bias.
Two, if the liberal perpetrator of this crime had been smart, he would have bitten off the finger of someone who actually needed a finger bitten off (see photo). Consider this convincing evidence that liberal central planning always results in misallocation of resources.

Wave goodbye to another pile of your tax dollars and a few more of your freedoms. An adviser to the FCC wants to create a “public media” that can “filter” the news and be used as a “megaphone” by a vast network of government-funded journalists.
Sounds like a great idea. What could go wrong?
Ellen Goodman, a Rutgers University law professor and distinguished visiting scholar with the FCC’s Future of Media Project, has a frightening plan to reshape the federal government’s communications policy…
“Information gaps are especially keen in the areas of investigative journalism, effective teaching materials, and content directed to underserved, minority, and poor populations…” according to Goodman and co-author Anne Chen.
“We have identified three core functions of digital public media, based on the directives of the Public Broadcasting Act and research on best practices in the field,” she says. “These functions are (1) to create content – particularly narratives in the form of journalism, long-form documentaries, oral histories, and cultural exploration – that markets will not and that is important to individual and social flourishing; (2) to curate content, serving as both a filter to reduce information overload and a megaphone to give voice to the unheard; and (3) to connect individuals to information and to each other in service of important public purposes.”
Of course, this is all necessary Goodman says, because while information is abundant, “wisdom and knowledge remain hard won.”
Absolutely. Certainly. For sure. And as we know, the government is the ultimate source of all wisdom.
Don’t know about you, but we really don’t want the government determining what gets filtered and who gets the megaphone. Especially this government.
Poor Ed Schultz. The loud-mouthed MSNBC host tried to use Democrat talking points (or in Ed’s case, shouting points) on the Heritage Foundation’s Ernest Istook.
You know, we seem to start all our Ed Schultz stories with the words, “Poor Ed Schultz.” This one is no exception.
Poor Ed Schultz. The loud-mouthed MSNBC host tried to use Democrat talking points (or in Ed’s case, shouting points) on the Heritage Foundation’s Ernest Istook.
It didn’t work. Poor Ed ended up looking even more foolish than usual, which is quite an impressive accomplishment.
You can always count on getting a good laugh from the comedy stylings of the New York Times’ Paul Krugman. In this interview with Jake Tapper, he sets the record straight and calls death panels by their proper name, which is … uhhhh … death panels.
You can always count on getting a good laugh from the comedy stylings of the New York Times’ Paul Krugman.
In this interview with Jake Tapper, he sets the record straight and calls death panels by their proper name, which is … uhhhh … death panels.
But that’s ok, because like every other provision of ObamaCare, they’ll save us money. Big money. Lots of money. Piles of money.
Krugman: Think about people on the right. They’re simultaneously screaming, they’re going to send all of the old people to death panels and it’s not going to save any money. That’s a contradictory point of view.
Tapper: Death panels would save money, theoretically.
Krugman: The advisory path has the ability to make more or less binding judgments on saying this particular expensive treatment actually doesn’t do any good medically and so we’re not going to pay for it. That is actually going to save quite a lot of money. We don’t know how much yet. The CBO gives it very little credit. But most of the health care economists I talk to think it’s going to be a really major cost saving.
This just in. Sarah Palin would like to thank Mr. Krugman for his inadvertent support.
It must have been difficult for President Obama to hear Harry Smith’s question when it was asked because of the fact that newsman’s lips were firmly planted on the President’s ass, causing the words to be a bit muffled.
It must have been difficult for President Obama to hear Harry Smith’s question when it was asked because of the fact that newsman’s lips were firmly planted on the President’s ass, causing the words to be a bit muffled.
So just in case you have trouble hearing the question and answer, he’s a quick summary:
Smith: Listening to talk radio… The kindest of terms, you are sometimes referred to out in America as a socialist. The worst of which I heard you called a Nazi. Obama: Well I think that when you listen to Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck it’s pretty apparent. It’s troublesome.
Indeed, we can imagine that it does seem a bit troublesome when freedom of speech keeps getting in the way of your socialist utopia.
