Who said it? And when did they say it? The fun new party game that’s sweeping Washington, DC.

Gitmo. Scene of untold horrors and told unhorrors.
Gitmo. Scene of untold horrors and told unhorrors.
See if you can guess who said the following in regarding Guantanamo inmates:

“One of the things we clearly want to do with these prisoners is to have an ability to interrogate them and find out what their future plans might be, where other cells are located. Under the Geneva Convention, you are really limited in the amount of information that you can elicit from people…[They] are not, in fact, people entitled to the protection of the Geneva Convention. They are not prisoners of war…Those in Europe and other places who are concerned about the treatment of al-Qaida members should come to Camp X-ray and see how the people are, in fact, being treated.”

Was it said by:

A. George Bush in June 2007
B. Dick Cheney in October 2008
C. John Ashcroft in 2003
D. Condoleezza Rice in 2009

The answer is None of the Above.

The quote comes from Eric Holder, our current attorney general, back in 2002. Now Holder is supposed to decide whether or not to depose or indict Bush’s legal advisors. Not that you’ll ever hear him questioned about his pre-Obama views on the evening news.

Do amnesiac Democrats (abetted by their liberal media cheerleaders) really want to keep digging themselves into a “torture” hole over the use of enhanced interrogation techniques that they approved of at the time? Maybe Holder will end up indicting himself along with House Screecher Pelosi.

As columnist Victor Davis Hanson ends a recent column, “If I were the Democratic leadership, I’d move on, so to speak.”

Miss California keeps title:
Trump trashes detractors, she speaks eloquently

Donald Trump defended Miss California Carrie Prejean at a press conference today and announced that she will get to keep her crown.. Then Prejean demonstrated a kind of eloquence and dignity with which Perez Hilton is obviously unfamiliar.

One of the first things Trump said at his press conference was that Carrie’s views on gay marriage are identical to those of President Obama: they both support benefits, equal rights, and civil unions for same-sex couples, but oppose a federal law allowing gay marriage.

Trump said the supposedly “racy” photos of Carrie are nothing more than standard modeling photos and that the “lurid” photos in circulation are PhotoShop phonies.

But the real highlight of the event was Prejean’s impassioned and eloquent speech on what she has been through, her values, and for her desire for free speech and the respect for diverse views by all.

We sat glued to the TV set in awe.

Let us be the first to say it: Carrie Prejean for Congress. Or Fox News. Or whatever the hell this wonderful young woman wants out of life.

Multiculturalism not so tolerant of white Africans

If there are no White African Americans, does that mean there are no Black American Africans?
If there are no White African Americans, does that mean there are no Black American Africans?

This writer has two kids in California colleges and knows all about forced diversity training courses. Well, they don’t physically force you, but if you like the idea of getting a degree for your time at school, you might want to take the class.

We don’t know if Paulo Serodio had a requirement to take a cultural diversity class in the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey, or if he just felt it would help him be a better medical professional.

Serodio claims that in 2006 he accurately told the class that he was “White, African, American.” Sounds right to us, given he is white, was born in Mozambique, and is an American citizen.

You can imagine the how that went over. He was harassed, his car was vandalized and was finally suspended for “conduct unbecoming a student.”

Serodio has now filed suit against the school. We wish him well.

Cultural diversity. It’s really a black and white issue, isn’t it?

Quote of the Day
“The black dyke got it wrong.”

wanda_sykes “Christopher Hitchens…had some choice words for the evening’s headlining comedian, Wanda Sykes. ‘The president should be squirming in his seat. Not smiling,’ he said. ‘The black dyke got it wrong. No one told her the rules.'”

Yow. Even IHateTheMedia.com wouldn’t say something like that. Don’t get us wrong — we’d quote it, but we wouldn’t say it.

Specter forgets he’s a Democrat, supports Republican, then remembers he’s a Democrat and retracts

Is it our imagination or is Arlen Specter beginning to look (and act) like Tony Soprano's senile uncle?
Is it our imagination or is Arlen Specter beginning to look (and act) like Tony Soprano's senile uncle?
It’s possible, just possible, that Arlen Specter’s switch to the Democrat party can be explained in one word: senility.

The poor old duffer seemed to forget that he switched parties last week and came out in support of Republican Norm Coleman in the still-contested Minnesota senate race.

The doddering old fool was being interviewed for a Times magazine feature. When asked if he was concerned about the lack of Jewish Republicans in the Senate he said, “I sure do. There’s still time for the Minnesota courts to do justice and declare Norm Coleman the winner.”

Oops. Someone on his staff must have reminded the 78-year old Specter that he was now a Democrat. Because when reporters asked him about the comment outside the Senate, Specter stuttered and sputtered and said the comment was a mistake. Just a big ol’ mistake.

Not the first mistake he made in the last week. And not the biggest mistake he’s made in the last week.

Killer stats: Flu kills five times more people, but AIDS gets double the money

A lot more money spent on AIDS, a lot more people killed by flu.
A lot more money spent on AIDS, a lot more people killed by flu.
Once again, the Federal government’s priorities are out of whack. Undoubtedly because the AIDS lobby is a lot more powerful than the flu lobby.

Here’s how CSNNews sums it up:

The federal government spent $6.1 billion on influenza-related programs in 2006, roughly half as much as the $13.7 billion dollars it spent on HIV/AIDS programs that year, according to figures provided to CNSNews.com by the Department of Health and Human Services. During that same time, seasonal flu claimed 56,326 lives in the U.S., while AIDS-related deaths stood at 12,113.

The flu lobby tried to follow the AIDS lobby’s template this year. They did everything possible to convince us that swine flu was going to kill every man, woman and child on the face of the earth.

Want to save $19.8 billion dollars? Just follow this medical advice:

To avoid swine flu, don’t go south of the border geographically. To avoid AIDS, don’t go south of the border metaphorically.

Virtual border fence proves to be virtually worthless

You know the fence is a joke when signs like this are posted 100 miles north of the border.
You know the fence is a joke when signs like this are posted 100 miles north of the border.
The Boeing Company is hard at work building a virtual fence along the border between the United States and Mexico. Problem is, it’s about as effective as no fence at all.

Here’s how the Associated Press reports it:

A prototype virtual fence strung across 28 miles of the southern Arizona border has been in use since late 2007.

The Government Accountability Office told Congress last year the prototype fence did not fully meet expectations and its design wouldn’t be used as the basis for future developments. It is still operating, though, and its portable towers will be used in test scenarios elsewhere.

“I am hopeful that the department and its contractors have learned from previous failed attempts and will apply those lessons to the deployment (of the new system). We will be watching closely until SBInet is complete,” Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee and a critic of the initial virtual fence efforts, said via e-mail Thursday.

The decision to move forward with construction was met with caution by a border security advocacy group.

“They’ve spent a lot of money and time on one (virtual fence) that didn’t work very well, so there’s reason to be skeptical,” said Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform. He said the high-tech devices aren’t a substitute for the promised actual fencing.

We’re budgeted to blow an unbelievable $6.7 billion on this border fence fiasco by 2014. To repeat, $6.7 billion.

Naturally, this boondoggle has the full support of the same people who complain that the “Star Wars” missile defense system is too expensive and that its technology is unproven.

Headline of the Day
“Afghanistan’s only pig quarantined in flu fear”

According to Reuters, “Afghanistan’s only known pig has been locked in a room, away from visitors to Kabul zoo where it normally grazes beside deer and goats, because people are worried it could infect them with the virus popularly known as swine flu.”

Swine flu may be widespread, but we don’t think it’s very popular.

Manipulator-in-Chief reassures 9/11 families, then frees terrorists

Debra Burlingame found out words and actions are two completely different things in the Obama administration.
Debra Burlingame found out words and actions are two completely different things in the Obama administration.
“We’d been had.”

That’s how Debra Burlingame sums up her meeting with the President. She was part of a group of USS Cole and 9/11 victims’ families who went to the White House to discuss Obama’s Guantanamo detainee policies.

“News reports described the meeting as a touching and powerful coming together of the president and these long-suffering families,” Burlingame wrote in the Wall Street Journal. Obama reassured them that jihadists wouldn’t be freed.

But 17 days later, the al Qaeda operative selected by Khalid Sheikh Mohammed for a post-9/11 attack with Jose Padilla was released.

The White House liaison to the families refused to answer questions.

“Given all the developments since our meeting with the president,” Burlingame said, “it is now evident that his words to us bore no relation to his intended actions on national security policy and detainee issues. But the narrative about Mr. Obama’s successful meeting with 9/11 and Cole families has been written, and the press has moved on.”

She concludes with this devastating summation, “The Obama team has established a pattern that should be plain for all to see. When controversy erupts or legitimate policy differences are presented by well-meaning people, send out the celebrity president to flatter and charm.”

Narrow-minded critics might say Obama promised Burlingame one thing, then did the opposite.

But the President prefers to say he gave her hope, then gave her change.

Ahmadinejad says, “Circumstances Changing Rapidly in Our Favor”

Our enemies seem to love President Obama’s “engagement” efforts. That can’t be a good sign.

Here’s how CNSNews.com reports it:

At a joint press conference with Syrian President Bashar Assad last Tuesday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad boasted that “those who one day called Iran and Syria part of the axis of evil now want to develop relations with Iran and Syria.”

“Circumstances are changing rapidly in our favor,” Arab media quoted him as saying. “We are on the road to victory.”

President Obama better start some of that smilin’, fist pumpin’ diplomacy in Iran. After all, it worked so well in Venezuela.

Purdue University muslims to woman against Sharia: “You have no right to speak”

Few dare to speak out against Sharia Law, and fewer still get the chance to do so in our one-sided, speech-coded, liberal halls of academia. When they do, they are treated with disrespect by both the school administration and students. And it would not be a stretch to say that they take their lives in their hands, delivering a message that the biased or blind media is unwilling to give.

One such person is Nonie Darwish, a woman who lived under Sharia for 47 years. On April 9, 2009, she gave a speech at Purdue University on the threat of Sharia Law. Some Muslims in attendance helped Darwish make her point, by shouting that she had no right to speak, and questioning how much her jewelry cost. School and security officials, did nothing to quiet the crowd. Although, as you will see in this video, they did plenty to quiet the speaker’s sponsor, the Conservative Coalition for American Values, outside before the event.

If she had attempted to give this speech in an Islamic country, she’d be buried neck deep and stoned to death. If she’d given it in many countries in Europe, she possibly be arrested for hate speech. So far, here in America, she only gets the treatment you see in the video. So far, we say, if our media –a nd organizations pretending to stand up for women, like NOW — does not begin reporting stories like this.

No job? No income? No problem. Massachusetts will give you a car

Gov. Deval Patrick’s free wheels for welfare recipients program is revving up despite the stalled economy, as the keys to donated cars loaded with state-funded insurance, repairs and even AAA membership are handed out to get them to work.

A few months ago we were appalled by a government program that gives a free cell phone and free minutes to the loosely-defined poor. Well, not to be outdone, Massachusetts is now giving them free cars.

Here’s how the Boston Herald explains the details of this welfare fiasco:

Immensely unpopular Democrat Gov Deval Patrick, may soon qualify for this program because he's going to be unemployed after the next election.
Immensely unpopular Democrat Gov Deval Patrick, may soon qualify for this program because he's going to be unemployed after the next election.

Gov. Deval Patrick’s free wheels for welfare recipients program is revving up despite the stalled economy, as the keys to donated cars loaded with state-funded insurance, repairs and even AAA membership are handed out to get them to work.

But the program – fueled by a funding boost despite the state’s fiscal crash – allows those who end up back on welfare to keep the cars anyway.

“It’s mind-boggling. You’ve got people out there saying, ‘I just lost my job. Hey, can I get a free car, too?’ ” said House Minority Leader Brad Jones (R-North Reading).

The Herald added:

The state pays for the car’s insurance, inspection, excise tax, title, registration, repairs and a AAA membership for one year at a total cost of roughly $6,000 per car.

The program, which started in 2006, distributes cars donated by non-profit charities such as Good News Garage, a Lutheran charity, which also does the repair work on the car and bills the state.

Free cell phones! Free cars! Free food! Free medical care! Free houses!

Not working is almost as good as getting elected to congress.

Harry Reid says Obama’s supreme court selection will be as good as his cabinet selections. That’s what we’re afraid of.

Harry Reid is apparently pissed off that people think Joe Biden is the stupidest man in Washington, DC. He wants to win the title back. So he fired off this gem.

What does this mean, Harry? They will not have paid their taxes? They employed illegal aliens. They are illegal aliens?

Tennessee senate may authorize Al Gore statue

ice_gore According to WSMV.com, “A resolution urging the creation of statues to be built on the Tennessee Capitol grounds of the state’s two Nobel Peace Prize winners, Al Gore and Cordell Hull, is on its way to a full Senate vote.”

This will not be the first time The Goracle has been honored with a statue.

Earlier this winter, during a particularly bitter cold snap, Fairbanks, Alaska businessman Craig Compeau commissioned this lovely 8-1/2 foot tall ice sculpture of the former Vice President and current scam artist.

Congratulations, Mr. Gore.

President Obama and the press laugh at the thought of Rush Limbaugh’s kidneys failing

Hollywood hates conservatives. The press hates conservatives. And the worst conservative on earth is Rush Limbaugh. And President Obama loves all that. Put all these ingredients together and what do you get? Comedian and actress Wanda Sykes at the the White House Press Corps dinner last night saying she hope Rush Limbaugh’s kidneys fail, to the delight and laughter of our free press, and of course, our tolerant and very sensitive president.

Oh we know, she was just kidding. The press crops were just a little tipsy. And the president was just politely smiling along with the joke. Can’t we conservatives just lighten up?

Democrats want to put private health insurance out of business, think government plan is the right medicine

Angry, liberal (forgive us for the redundancy) Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) wants to put private health care out of business. And she admits that Obama’s health care plan will do exactly that.

You may have seen this video in which she says:

“And next to me was a guy from an insurance company who then argued against the public health insurance option saying it wouldn’t let private insurance compete; that a public option would put the private insurance industry out of business. (cheers) My single payer friends, he was right. The man was right. Here’s what I told him. I said excuse me sir the goal of health care reform is not to protect the private health insurance industry. And, I am so confident in the superiority of a public health care option that I think he has every reason to be frightened.”

Well, last week the angry, liberal (damn it, we did it again) representative showed up on Fox News, put on a happy face and tried to downplay what she said on the earlier video.

Media bias being what it is, Fox News is the only network that put the angry, liberal (we can’t stop ourselves) representative on the air to put her hypocrisy on display.

If Michael Savage is right and liberalism is a mental disorder, we wonder if it will be covered by Obama’s healthcare plan.

“Milk” screenwriter wants annual Harvey Milk Day in California

Benjamin Button prepares to celebrate "Old Guy With Young Chick Day"
Benjamin Button prepares to celebrate "Old Guy With Young Chick Day"

Dustin Lance Black, the guy who wrote “Milk,” says he’s hopeful that California will name May 22 as Harvey Milk Day.

Here’s how WilshireAndWashington.com reported it:

After he testified on Wednesday before the state Senate’s education committee, the panel voted 7-2 to send the bill to the full Senate.

“We not only won the vote, but we actually got bipartisan support,” he said from San Francisco. “That was very exciting to me. I got a little misty eyed.”

Black told the committee of how, when he was 14 and struggling with being gay in a conservative environment, a theater director in the Bay area told him the story of Milk, the nation’s first openly gay elected official, and how he “stood up to prejudice and bigotry” and “lived openly as who he was.”

“The big point I made is I was one of the lucky kids,” Black said. “But why did it have to happen through luck?”

In a related move fully-supported by the Hollywood community, the writer of “Benjamin Button” proposed that “Old Guy With Young Chick Day” be declared in both May and December.

Western civilization: Doomed by demographics

John Edwards’ baby mamma demands DNA test

Rielle Hunter, mistress of the schmuck John Edwards and Frances Quinn, daughter of the schmuck John Edwards
Rielle Hunter, mistress of the schmuck John Edwards and Frances Quinn, daughter of the schmuck John Edwards
If John Edwards wasn’t such a complete schmuck, you could almost feel sorry for him.

His wife’s making the rounds of the media reminding everyone that he’s a schmuck who cheated on her while she is dying of cancer. And now his mistress also realizes he’s a schmuck and is demanding a DNA test to prove he’s the father of her baby.

According to the National Enquirer, which refused to let this story die when the liberal media attempted to bury it:

Rielle Hunter – the longtime secret lover of the disgraced 2-time presidential candidate – wants definitive proof that Edwards is the father of her 14-month-old love child Frances and is working with a lawyer to take legal action, say sources.

The blonde divorcee – who gave birth in February 2008 – was slammed in the explosive new book Resilience written by the ex-senator’s cancer-stricken wife Elizabeth.

The story continued:

“Rielle – probably naively – now realizes she had held onto a false promise that if she continued to take part in the cover-up John had engineered, they’d be together in the future,” a close source told The ENQUIRER.

“She was willing to protect John for the sake of the child. She agreed to allow a crony of his to claim he was the baby’s father, and she even kept the name of the father blank on the birth certificate.

“But now she can see there’s never going to be a future with John – and she feels he’s lied about his promise to keep Elizabeth from trashing her in the book,” the insider divulged.

Have we mentioned that John Edwards is a schmuck?

UPDATE: Andres Young now says there is a John Edwards and Rielle Hunter sex tape

CNN’s infamous Tea Party reporter back on the air, now covering Drew Peterson

Highly-respected reporter Susan Roesgen…hell, we can’t even say that with a straight face, so let’s start again. Partisan hack reporter Susan Roesgen is back on the air at CNN.

You may remember Roesgen as the so-called reporter who frantically attacked Tea Party participants in Chicago on April 15. Her pathetic performance drew such unanimous condemnation that Roesgen suddenly departed on a “previously-planned vacation.” A three week vacation, at that.

Roesgen is now back on the air reporting for CNN. Her assignment? The Drew Peterson arrest. And after the way she murdered her Tea Party assignment, what could be more appropriate?

Unconfirmed rumors say that Roesgen immediately caught Peterson’s eye and the dashing former detective is already planning a June wedding.

There’s not a word of truth in that previous sentence. But in our defense, you have to admit that those two deserve each other.
