Shephard Smith probably wishes he could take back an exchange he had yesterday on Fox News. The anchor got, shall we say, a little heated during a discussion with Trace Gallagher and Andrew Napolitano.
He said, and we quote, “We are America! I don’t give a rat’s ass if it helps! We are America! We do not f*cking torture!”
Immediately after the outburst, Shep got very quiet. We imagine his director must have been screaming some equally color language into his earpiece.
We have one question for you, Mr. Smith. If torture is not allowed in America, how does Keith Olbermann stay on the air?
Carrie Prejean, the California beauty who would have won the Miss USA title had it not been for the militant gay egomaniac Perez Hilton, showed up on Neil Cavuto’s Fox program on Tuesday.
She was fabulous. Warm. Gracious. Intelligent. Well-spoken. Amazingly, she appears to genuinely hold no ill will toward Perez Hilton. And she seems to have all the right points of view to qualify for a job at Fox News.
Here’s one brief exchange between Cavuto and Parjean.
Cavuto: (wondering how she would have answered the question posed to Miss Arizona) What do you think of the bailouts? Carrie: I don’t feel that taxpayers’ money should be used for bailing out companies. I don’t. Do I agree that they should be used for welfare? No. I don’t.
But then Cavuto got the heart of the matter – Prejean’s plans for the future:
Cavuto: What do you want to be? Carrie: You know, I’m not sure. I’m continuing my modeling career and I’m not sure how far that’s going to lead me. Maybe get into politics, you never know. Cavuto: You know, half of ‘em want to get into TV news. Carrie: No, I don’t think I want to get into that. Definitely not. Maybe motivational speaking. Cavuto: (Whistles) Whew. Breathe a sigh of relief there. OK, good. Because I don’t need the competition. I just want to avoid that. Carrie: I know.
Carrie Prejean. Smarter than Perez Hilton. More attractive than Paris Hilton. And vice versa, too.
Janeane Garofalo and Keith Olbermann are complete opposites. She’s angry and nuts, but he’s nuts and angry. Watching their alternate reality is like being dropped into some parallel universe where everything is twisted about 180 degrees.
Here are a few choice comments from Garofalo on Olbermann’s Thursday show. Amazingly, she knows things about you and the Tea Parties and Fox News that no one else has ever known. Or ever will know.
“Racism straightup. Nothing but a bunch of teabagging racists.” Blah-blah-blah. “These guys hate that a black guy is in the White House.” Blah-blah-blah. “Fox News loves to foment this anti-intellectualism because that’s their bread and butter.” Blah-blah-blah. “The Republican hyphen conservative movement has crystalized into the white power movement.”
Olbermann actually treats this lunatic like she’s a rational human being. Of course, that would be the pot calling the kettle black.
Hey, that wasn’t a racist comment. No matter what Garofalo says.
Back when Rupert Murdoch founded Fox, he said he was doing it because CNN was biased, out of touch and ignored a major part of the audience.
Murdoch’s wisdom was never more evident than during yesterday’s Tea Parties.
First, a CNN reporter asks a man why he’s at the Tea Party, interrupts his answer, and raves about the state of Illinois gets $50 billion in “stimulus” money.
We could excuse it as the emotional excesses of a single reporter. Except for one thing: the YouTube video of the segment is titled “CNN Reporter Roughed Up at Chicago Tea-Party” despite the fact that there was no physical confrontation whatsoever. The bias is simply endemic at CNN.
This one simple clip demonstrates why Fox has higher ratings than the other cable news networks combined.
Never trust a NYPD horse. They are notorious liars. The city’s bankrupt. Taxes are going through the roof. And Rush Limbaugh’s leaving town. Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse comes this news:
A former New York City police detective who is now a TV news reporter for Fox affiliate WNYW was charged with DUI after his car crashed into a police horse on Monday night.
Police reported that 60-year-old Michael Sheehan refused a breathalyzer test which resulted in the automatic suspension of his license.
Thomas Monaghan, Sheehan’s attorney, said police had the story backwards and that the horse had actually slammed into Sheehan’s car and “not the other way around.”
Hot Fox News Babes, the best of all the TV anchor babes, are showing leg in their short skirts and helping raise Fox News ratings. We’ve got Laurie Dhue, Alisyn Camerota, Kiran Chetry, Page Hopkins, and E. D. Hill.
We regularly cover the booming ratings at Fox News.
Well, pardon us for being slow. We had never noticed how short the skirts are on the Fox News women anchors until someone sent us this video. With the hot TV anchor babes in their short skirts and beautiful legs (In the interest of full disclosure, we should also reveal that we used to buy Playboy just for the articles).
The note attached to the video postulated that there may be a direct relationship between the rise in ratings at Fox News and the rise of the Fox women skirts. If true, it’s an interesting programming strategy.
Will Fox News ratings dominance last? Can the skirts of Fox women go any higher? Can the Fox News legs get any better? Well, they certainly appear to have legs. And pay particular attention to Laurie Dhue. We’d sure like a 3D printer copy of her.
Introducing the latest style from Keith Olbermann's new fashion line. Last week Keith Olbermann complained about a fake Twitter page and suggested that it was part of a nefarious plot by arranged by Fox News.
Oops. Media Bistro reports that the Olbermann Twitter page may have been run by MSNBC for “several months.” (In fact, the cable network admittedly operates a separate Olbermann Twitter site.)
“It turns out the account Olbermann may have been referring to @KeithOlbermann, which currently has 12,099 followers was set up by someone who was friendly enough to later give that account to MSNBC, which has had it for several months. But Olbermann wasn’t made aware of that not-so-minor detail, insiders tell us.”
“What’s bothering you this week,” his psychiatrist said. “Are you still having those bad dreams about Rupert Murdoch?”
If you ever doubted that Keith Olbermann is insane, get over it. This is, perhaps, his most crazed “Worst Person In the World” segment ever.
Unbeknownst to Olbermann, someone opened a Twitter account in his name and now has 13,000 followers. Keith does not like this. He does not like it at all. So he blustered. His eyes bugged out. He twitched. He fell just short of foaming at the mouth. And then he named Twitter the Worst Person In the World.
And then, of course, he blamed Fox News.
Had they not run out of time, Olbermann would have continued blaming Fox for World War IX, kim chee, the Jonas Brothers, and his own sexual dysfunctions.
Anchor Babe Courtney Friel of Fox News is the hottest woman on cable news. Here are a few photos of Courtney in her bikini.
Courtney Friel (sigh).
Anchor Babe Courtney Friel of Fox News, the hottest of the Fox News Women Anchors, was interviewed recently by SoupCans. The anchor goddess answered the following question:
Soup: How did the gig with Fox News come about?
Friel: Well…I went on a date with Roger Ailes…OMG- I’m joking!! Actually, the process was pretty standard. My agent sent FOX a DVD which had 2 reels on it – entertainment and local news. Then I flew to NYC for an interview. Next I got an offer so I left LA and moved to the Big Apple! I’m in my third year at FNC already!
So does that mean she’s not going out with Roger Ailes? He hasn’t swept the most beautiful woman on television into his evil web of conservative conquests? Does it mean she’s available?
Maybe not. She also revealed in the interview that she’s married to some other TV guy blah-blah-blah. We really didn’t concentrate on that part of the interview.
Let’s make this clear right up front. We would leave our wives for Courtney. Is that so wrong?
"Have you...uh...seen my teleprompter, Dave...uh...Jay?"
President Obama is wearing out his welcome with America’s television networks. Especially at Fox, home of his harshest critics.
The economy is struggling, advertising sales are dropping, ratings are sagging, and all the networks lose revenue every time Obama interrupts their regular primetime programming. But none are impacted as severly as Fox.
Obama always requests primetime coverage on Tuesday, the one night of the week that does the most damage to Fox.
Fox “owns” Tuesday nights thanks to its two-hour American Idol programming block. Next week the network will be forced to shift its line-up, pushing each of the regular “Idol” broadcasts back a day.
“At a time when we’re struggling not only financially but to build audiences, this doesn’t help on either front,” one network executive said. “These repeated interruptions — and the rumor of even more to come — really make it difficult to build audience flow and loyalty. We will all lose one or two million dollars for this.”
“I believe in the president and his policies, and as broadcasters we have a responsibility to provide the airtime,” said another network insider. “But these frequent primetime requests are wreaking serious havoc with our schedule and our advertisers. Ratings are down everywhere and the airtime is costing us all significant dollars when we can least afford it.”
So much for the “stimulus” plan.
But let’s get to the more important issues. Adam Lambert. Did you love his version of “Ring of Fire?” Or did you hate it?
All that cell phone location-tracking technology you see on “24” really exists.
The law says we can’t use it to track terror suspects or kidnappers domestically, but can use it in foreign countries. But we can’t talk about that. At least not on the record. Or attributed. (So this is off the record. And anonymous.)
Here’s how Fox News explains it:
“Technology that tracks millions of 911 calls from cell phones in the United States every month is being deployed in Middle Eastern and Asian-Pacific countries to track terror suspects — but legal obstacles prevent widespread usage in the U.S.”
Let’s skip ahead to the last two paragraphs, which is always the best part:
U.S. military officials in Iraq and Afghanistan did not reply to requests for comment on the use of cell phone tracking there, but a source close to the matter told FOXNews.com that the practice is widely used.
“In Iraq and Afghanistan, I see [cell phone tracking technology] used all the time,” according to the source who requested anonymity due to not being authorized to speak on the matter. “I see it being used as often as a helicopter. But [military officials] don’t talk about electronic warfare, even if it’s widely used.”
Notice how the ones authorized to speak on the matter don’t comment. But you didn’t hear it from us.
We don’t make this stuff up, we just report it. Nobody could make this stuff up.
Fox News just issued a story titled “Eleven Ways to Make Your Sex Life Greener.” This surprised us, because we didn’t know that sex was bad for the environment.
“As we become more compelled to sustain the future, all that is erotic is becoming green,” Dr. Yvonne K. Fulbright says in the report. “From seduction to sex, individuals are becoming more planet-friendly as well as body-friendly.
Sexpert Dr. Yvonne K. Fulbright
The story goes on to provide tips on green dating, vegetarian porn, green weddings, bamboo sheets, sustainable wooden paddles, and phthalate-free vibrators. (Dammit, man, we don’t even know what a phthalate is, but it sounds kind of kinky.)
As a public service, IHateTheMedia.com generously submits the following tip that Dr. Fulbright overlooked:
“Keep the lights off when you’re having sex with someone ugly. It will conserve energy and your self-esteem.”
You’re welcome. Who needs The Playboy Advisor when you have IHateTheMedia.com.
We’re not going to show the NSFW photos here. But, we did clean up one photo that shows you an interesting Kama Sutra move with a stick. We know it’s Saturday, but being the curious guys and gals we are, we called in the IHTM staff this morning to try that one out, but only ended up hurt ourselves. Guess our moms were right about poking our eyes out. I suppose we’ll need to buy the book for instructions.
For those of you pervs out there that really want to see the most revealing photos you can follow one of the links at Kenneth in the (212)’s blog. We’re not putting that link or those photos here. But guys, be forewarned, these are, uh, more the type of photos that a female would prefer to see, if you know what we mean.
And one final note. Those of you gloating liberals we have heard from who laughed that Aaron Bruns was a Fox News employee should take note that it is reported that he is a liberal. Not that we care, a child porn guy is a child porn guy. But some people seem too care.
NPR is supposed to stand for National Public Radio. But based on their latest flap with liberal commentator Juan Williams, the initials seem to stand for No Public Relations.
“Last year,” said Alicia Shepard, an NPR ombudsman, “378 listeners emailed me complaints and frustrations about things Williams said on Fox. The listener themes are similar: Williams ‘dishonors NPR.’ He’s an ‘embarrassment to NPR.’ NPR should severe their relationship with him.’”
Ellen Weiss, Vice President of News at NPR, is so concerned about it that she “has asked Williams to ask that Fox remove his NPR identification whenever he is on O’Reilly.”
All this simply because Williams occasionally deviates from the officially-scripted leftwing line.
In other news, NPR reported that 647 listeners complained that Lenin was too conservative, Marx was a rightwing lackey, and Mao was a fascist. All three have now asked O’Reilly to stop identifying them as communists.
The press has been reporting that Aaron Bruns was a Fox producer covering the Hillary Clinton campaign. But Bruns’ twitter page makes it clear he was covering Joe Biden.
The most surprising thing about the page is that Bruns’ tweets are so remarkably pedestrian. Mind-numbingly dull, in fact.
We’ve only been able to make them interesting by taking them completely out of context and making it appear that they have some salacious meaning, which they didn’t.
“Hey there! abruns is using Twitter.”
“CNN has icecream!”
“Biden said…”children are off limits.”
“this is beyond disappointing. This is beyond disappointing. This is wrong.”
“Beautiful Reno, NV, where every hotel room has too many mirrors”
“i’m getting hard. i’m a hard guy.”
“…wondering how Trojan condoms got a spot so close to the Pepsi Center… and what the hell is in their inflatable tent???”
Next time you can’t sleep, read Bruns’ twitter page. You will soon be sleeping in the sweet, sweet arms of Morpheus.
Highlights of this week’s cable news ratings. Fox continues its run of dominant ratings thanks to growing dissatisfaction with the Keystone Kops administration in Washington, DC. Larry King topped Keith Olbermaniac. Rachel Maddow climbed back into the top ten dispite rather lackluster numbers.

Details of the child porn charges against a Fox News producer are even more disgusting than originally feared. Videos and photos on 29-year old Aaron Bruns’ laptop computer reportedly show “children under the age of ten being sexually abused by adult men and women.” Law enforcement officials indicate some of the children may be as young as five.
Sadly, this isn’t Bruns’ first child porn problem. He had been sentenced to three years probation after pleading guilty to distributing child porn over the internet back in 1999. At the time, police said they had found 6,000 pornographic images of children on his laptop computer at the University of Michigan.
WARNING: A copy of the affidavit in support of Bruns’ arrest warrant can be found by clicking on the following links. It is not for the squeamish, because it contains graphic detail about the vile nature of the porn found on Bruns’ laptop.
TVNewser is reporting that Fox News Channel producer Aaron Bruns has been arrested and charged with one count of possession of child pornography. A Fox News spokesperson told TVNewser, “We are aware of the arrest and he is currently suspended without pay.”
Bruns has been with FNC in the Washington, D.C. bureau for over six years. He was an embedded producer with the Hillary Clinton campaign last year.
FishbowlDC further reports that Bruns’ was previously arrested on charges of distributing child porn in 1999. Fox News told TVNewser that his criminal record did not surface as he was hired in 2002, one year before Fox News instituted background checks.
We usually end with a clever line here, but there’s nothing funny about this. All we’ve got to say is, if he’s quilty, hang him high.
Update: The Smoking Gun says, “According to an arrest warrant affidavit filed in U.S. District Court, an FBI search of a Dell laptop in Bruns’s Washington, D.C. home turned up several photos and videos showing the sexual abuse of children as young as five years old.”
Update:The original video has been pulled, so we replaced it with a photo of him. If anyone has a new link to the video (not the one with Hilary), please let us know.
