Chicago Democrat calls tax protests shameful, neglects to mention her convicted tax-cheat husband

Jan Schakowsky thinks tax protesters are despicable. Oh, did she mention that her husband plead guilty to tax fraud. Slipped her mind.
Jan Schakowsky thinks tax protesters are despicable. Oh, did she mention that her husband plead guilty to tax fraud. Slipped her mind.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill., duh) took time out of her busy tax-and-spend schedule to denounce the Tea Party protests as “despicable” and shameful.”

In a statement, Schakowsky parroted Democratic/CNN talking points that the Tea Parties were “an effort to mislead the public about the Obama economic plan that cuts taxes for 95 percent of Americans.”

“It’s despicable that right-wing Republicans would attempt to cheapen a significant, honorable moment of American history with a shameful political stunt,” she said. “Not a single American household or business will be taxed at a higher rate this year. Made to look like a grassroots uprising, this is an Obama bashing party promoted by corporate interests, as well as Republican lobbyists and politicians.”

What her statement failed to mention was that her husband, lobbyist Robert Creamer, pled guilty to bank fraud and tax cheating in 2005. She also signed off on their tax returns.

If this is the most ethical and transparent congress in history, we can’t imagine what the most corrupt would be like.

Black Chamber of Commerce leader says Kennedy’s health care ideas “just don’t work”

The problem with liberals is that most of them don’t live in the real world. Not even in the same neighborhood. Hair-brained schemes hatched in the hallowed halls of academe don’t work any more than the professors who concoct them.

Then there’s Harry Alford, president and CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce, someone with both feet planted squarely in the real world. Here’s what Alford had to say about lib healthcare concepts:

“Yeah, I love Ted Kennedy. I love what he stands for, but he has come out over the years with some ideas that I think just don’t work. I remember his office called me and they wanted to – any business that had over 100 employers would have to have medical insurance for all the employees. And he was aiming this at fast food chains. And I said, all the McDonald’s and Burger King owners are going to do is make sure he doesn’t have 100 employees because he can’t afford it. You can’t make him do this. They’ll be fewer jobs.”

Fewer jobs? Perfect. That would allow the libs to test some of their equally ineffective job creation theories.

Actress and singer Rosario Dawson calls Obama “vagina friendly”

Rosario Dawson - actress, singer, political scientist, vagina expert
Rosario Dawson - actress, singer, political scientist, vagina expert
The Cult of Obama has taken perhaps its most bizarre twist. Yeah, bizarre. That’s the right word.

Lousy actress and poor singer Rosario Dawson has given President Obama that would only be considered a compliment in the twisted world of Hollywood. She says his administration is very “vagina friendly.”

The D.C. Examiner reports it like this:

Rosario Dawson has been a vocal supporter of President Barack Obama’s policies, appearing both at the Democratic National Convention and the “We Are One” concert, but Tuesday, she expressed a new reason why she loves our President.

“I feel like we have a very vagina-friendly administration,” Dawson said, speaking at the first Men Can Stop Rape conference at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill.

She didn’t elaborate on how the administration was “friendly,” but we presume she meant his work that supports the speech she gave about preventing sexual violence against women. She received a standing ovation.

We think that last line was a typo. It was supposed to have said, “She received a standing ovulation.”

To: Janeane Garofalo
From: An outraged conservative
Re: Republican racists
Date: April 17, 2009

Earlier today we published the story Angry activist, actress Janeane Garofalo announces that you’re a racist where she told Keith Olbermann that tax protesters are nothing but a bunch of racist white power wackos.

Well, Janeane, here’s one of those racist Republicans at a Tea Party in Santa Ana, California, right in the heart of whitebread Orange County.

Oh, wait. That woman appears to be black. A black woman had the nerve to tweak Barack Obama’s America-bashing overseas statements on one side of her sign, then tweak Michelle Obama’s ’08 campaign comment on the other (“For the first time in my adult life I’m proud of my country”).

Being in Orange County, she probably isn’t authentically black. But take our word for it, she is authentically outraged.

Update: For some reason our Digg It button not working in this article. You can Digg it here. That is, if you want to send Garofalo the memo.

“High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens says, “I carry a Taser”

Vanessa Hudgens makes a shocking announcement.
Vanessa Hudgens makes a shocking announcement.
The Obama administration may be weak on defense, but movie star Vanessa Hudgens isn’t. She just revealed that she is armed and dangerous.

“I keep a Taser in my purse for self-defense,” Hudgens said, “I’m moving into a house by myself, and it’s scary.

Let us say something to Vanessa just for the record:

You don’t need the Taser. And you didn’t need the restraining order. You know we are married in the eyes of Valdor the All-Powerful. We are destined to be together. Now put down the Taser, Vanessa. Put down the Taser. Owwwww. That wasn’t really necessary.

Tea Party coverage leads to surge in Fox ratings

April 15, 2009 (Tea Party Night) Cable News RatingsEveryone’s ratings were up on the night of the Tea Parties, but the ratings at Fox were in the stratosphere. They can’t even see MSNBC in their rear view mirror anymore.

The Comedy Network’s Daily Show and Colbert climbed into the top ten at the expense of MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and CNN’S Larry King.

The ratings for Ed Schultz’ EdShow were so abysmal that MSNBC may rename it “Weekday at Bernie’s.” And all that talk about “teabagging” caused Anderson Cooper to suck. Or maybe we should have said his ratings sucked. Yeah, that’s what we should have said.

Angry activist, actress Janeane Garofalo announces that you’re a racist

Janeane Garofalo and Keith Olbermann are complete opposites. She’s angry and nuts, but he’s nuts and angry. Watching their alternate reality is like being dropped into some parallel universe where everything is twisted about 180 degrees.

Here are a few choice comments from Garofalo on Olbermann’s Thursday show. Amazingly, she knows things about you and the Tea Parties and Fox News that no one else has ever known. Or ever will know.

“Racism straightup. Nothing but a bunch of teabagging racists.” Blah-blah-blah. “These guys hate that a black guy is in the White House.” Blah-blah-blah. “Fox News loves to foment this anti-intellectualism because that’s their bread and butter.” Blah-blah-blah. “The Republican hyphen conservative movement has crystalized into the white power movement.”

Olbermann actually treats this lunatic like she’s a rational human being. Of course, that would be the pot calling the kettle black.

Hey, that wasn’t a racist comment. No matter what Garofalo says.

Update: Please read our subsequent Memo to the lovely and gracious Janeane Garofalo:

Leading Democrat objects to Obama administration’s “right wing extremist” report

Barack Obama and Janet Napolitano think this is the Tomb of the Unknown Terrorist.
Barack Obama and Janet Napolitano think this is the Tomb of the Unknown Terrorist.

Janet Napolitano finds herself this morning standing in a big pile of something that smells very bad.

Even a leading House Democrat wants to know why the Secretary of Homeland Security chose to issue a report that targets veterans as potential terrorists.

Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said he was “dumbfounded” by the report.

“This report appears to raise significant issues involving the privacy and civil liberties of many Americans — including war veterans,” Mr. Thompson stated in the letter to Napolitano.

“As I am certain you agree, freedom of association and freedom of speech are guaranteed to all Americans — whether a person’s beliefs, whatever their political orientation, are ‘extremist’ or not.”

You know the Department of Homeland Security report is a gross distortion of the truth when someone with Thompson’s solid liberal credentials sees the danger in it.

PBS to carry al Jazeera propaganda news program. Network to be renamed al PBS?

Introducing al PBS\' new correspondent in Afghanistan. Or maybe Pakistan.
Introducing al PBS' new correspondent in Afghanistan. Or maybe Pakistan.

PBS, the national broadcasting network funded with our tax dollars and your tax dollars and the coerced donations of America’s corporations, has plumbed new depths in its anti-American news coverage.

The network’s WorldFocus program now carries reports from Al Jazeera’s English channel, leading some lawmakers and a lot of citizens to object.

“It is a professional institution but it is a militant institution that wants to convey an ideological Jihadi message,” Walid Phares, a terrorism expert for Fox News, said about al Jazeera.

“My concern is that the American people should be pretty darn upset about the fact that their tax dollars are going to fund this,” said North Carolina’s Republican Rep. Sue Myrick said. “I mean, they’re already upset about what their tax dollars are going to fund, and now they’re funding propaganda.

WorldFocus responded with this statement:

“Though many people who have not seen Al Jazeera English think of it as a propaganda machine for Islamic extremist causes, much of what it produces is not ideological. We also believe Al Jazeera English does sometimes offer us and our viewers a unique perspective from various parts of the world where it has access that others don’t.”

In other news, PBS has announced that it will offer a whole new line of al Jazeera logo items during its next fundraiser. Products include authentic-looking dynamite vests for the dashing about town, stylish burkhas for the liberal lady who wants that chic “international” look, and the much requested “Bush Is Hitler” notepads.

Call now. Operators are standing by.

Sacré bleu! Nicolas Sarkozy resigns from the Barack Obama Fan Club

Nicolas Sarkozy pense que Barack Obama est plein de la merde.
Nicolas Sarkozy pense que Barack Obama est plein de la merde.
Let this be a warning to all the world leaders reading IHateTheMedia.com: Do not steal the limelight from Nicolas Sarkozy.

Sarkozy is calling time out on President Obama’s attempts to reassert American leadership, calling them as unoriginal, unsubstantial and overrated.

The French president is a little pissy about the superstar treatment Obama received on his European tour a couple weeks ago.

According to the Times of London:

The American President’s call to free the world of the menace of a nuclear nightmare” was hot air, Mr Sarkozy’s diplomatic staff told him in a report. “It was rhetoric – not a speech on American security policy but an export model aimed at improving the image of the United States,” they said. Most of Mr Obama’s proposals had already been made by the Bush administration and Washington was dragging its feet on disarmament and treaties against nuclear proliferation, the leaked report said.

Personal pique and French politics are also behind the souring of Mr Sarkozy’s self-promoted honeymoon with the United States. On the personal side, the French President is needled by the adulation for an unproven US leader whose stardom has eclipsed what he sees as his established record as a world troubleshooter. “The President is annoyed by what he sees as the naivety and the herd mentality of the media,” said a journalist who is privy to Elysée thinking.

One member of IHateTheMedia.com’s Editorial Board suffered through two years of French in high school. He’s had an intense dislike of the country and its culture and its people and its food ever since. He hates French poodles, French fries, and French braids, French maids, French pastries, French accents and French perfume.

But now he says, “Vive la France! Vive Le Sarkozy!”

CNN reporter demonstrates exactly why Rupert Murdoch founded Fox News

Back when Rupert Murdoch founded Fox, he said he was doing it because CNN was biased, out of touch and ignored a major part of the audience.

Murdoch’s wisdom was never more evident than during yesterday’s Tea Parties.

First, a CNN reporter asks a man why he’s at the Tea Party, interrupts his answer, and raves about the state of Illinois gets $50 billion in “stimulus” money.

We could excuse it as the emotional excesses of a single reporter. Except for one thing: the YouTube video of the segment is titled “CNN Reporter Roughed Up at Chicago Tea-Party” despite the fact that there was no physical confrontation whatsoever. The bias is simply endemic at CNN.

This one simple clip demonstrates why Fox has higher ratings than the other cable news networks combined.

Larry King vs Ashton Kutcher. Wake us up when it’s over.

Ditzy actor/producer/boytoy Ashton Kutcher is now competing with CNN for 1,000,000 followers on Twitter. It’s a death match.

“I find it astonishing that one person can actually have as big of a voice online as what an entire media company can on Twitter,” Kutcher said. “I just thought that was kind of an amazing comment on the state of our media.”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcewDFh42Ps “Are you kidding,” asked CNN’s Larry King. “Do you think you can take on an entire network? Do you know how big we are? Do you know what CNN is? Kutcher, you’re playing out of your field. You’re in another time zone. This ain’t gonna work. CNN will bury you!”

Two thoughts:

First, who in their right mind would want to follow either of these boneheads? Second, can you remember a phonier, more obviously-rehearsed publicity stunt?

But what the hell. If it works, it works. We officially challenge NewsBusters.org to see which of us can be first to get 5,000 Twitter followers. Are you with us or against us? Hey, they’re ten times older and ten times bigger, but we hope our dedicated viewers will get behind us and push us over the top. Go IHateTheMedia.com.”

Enough about taxes. Let’s pause briefly for a little media nudity.

Padma Kakshmi, former wife of Salmon Rushdi. Well, I'll be fatwahed.
Padma Kakshmi, former wife of Salmon Rushdi. Well, I'll be fatwahed.

So there’s a magazine out there called Allure. Or so we’ve been told.

One of the IHateTheMedia.com wives describes it as “sort of a cross between Shape and Vogue with lots of fashion and make-up and stuff like that.”

So the May issue of the magazine is called “The Nude Issue.” It features Top Chef host (and former wife of Salmon Rushdi) Padma Lakshmi, E! talk show host Chelsea Handler and “Dollhouse” star Eliza Dushku stripped down to…well…nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Chelsea Handler
Chelsea Handler

Rest assured, this is tasteful nudity. Artistic, one might even say. And as supporters of the arts, they’re right up our tasteful alley. Our review of the art can be summed up in a word:

Va-va-voom.

“I tend to sleep in the nude… I’m a sensual-leaning woman,” Padma said. “You have to use the word ‘leaning’ or it sounds like I’m boasting.”

Eliza Dushku
Eliza Dushku

When asked about her favorite body part, Chelsea said: “My boobs are good. They’re real and perky.”

Eliza: “I’ll strip down to my underwear and my Ugg boots when I eat lunch in my trailer.”

We just have one question. What time is lunch?

Iraqis bury victims of Saddam genocide, American media yawns

Thousands of Kurds attended the burial ceremony for victims of Saddam Hussein's Iraqi genocide.
Thousands of Kurds attended the burial ceremony for victims of Saddam Hussein's Iraqi genocide.
Saddam Hussein slaughtered more than 180,000 Iraqis during the early 1980s. Iraqi Kurds recently held a ceremony to bury 187 of his victims, but the American media was so busy reporting on the new first dog that they missed the ceremony.

In case anyone in the American media is interested, here’s how Iraq’s Aswat Aliraq News reported it:

Ceremonies on Tuesday were held in Kurdistan’s southern area of Kermyan to mark the burial of the remains of 187 victims of al-Anfal campaign in the presence of thousands of local residents.

The coffins carrying the bodies were wrapped in the Kurdistan region’s flags and prayers were offered for the souls of the victims in the midst of an increased security presence.

The Kermyan mayor, Tareq Rasheed, had told Aswat al-Iraq news agency that the remains of those victims will be buried in the area of Dibin in Kermyan on Tuesday (April 14) in ceremonies to be attended by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and Iraqi Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barazani.

Representatives of the two presidents attended the ceremonies.

The former Iraqi regime launched a series of campaigns codenamed Anfal during the early 1980s, which resulted in the death of thousands of Kurds, most of them were buried in mass graves all over Iraq.

According to figures released by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), more than 182,000 persons were killed in the Anfal campaign.

Sad that the American media thinks Barack Hussein’s dog is more important than Saddam Hussein’s 180,000 innocent victims.

Obama’s presidential approval rating is slipping, watch out below

obama_chart According to Rasmussen’s daily Presidential Tracking Poll released on Sunday, President Obama has slipped to the lowest approval rating of his presidency.

“The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 34% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-two percent (32%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of +2, his lowest total to date.”

For God’s sake, man, this guy just got a puppy and he named it Bo. And the media reported it with more enthusiasm than when he named his Secretary of State. The damn dog will probably give him a bounce in tomorrow’s poll.

Pro-al Qaeda magazine released in United States. Wait until you see Miss June.

Miss June casts a sultry look in her first centerfold photo session.
Miss June casts a sultry look in her first centerfold photo session.
Let’s get something straight here. We hate the media. But some media we have more than others. In particular, we hate a new magazine called “Jihad Recollections.”

“Jihad Recollections” is published in Charlotte, North Carolina by Samir Khan. The magazine’s 70-pages are jampacked with same type of lunacy you might expect from the al Qaeda bad boys themselves.

The premiere issue offers links to al Qaeda-produced videos. It includes two English feature length articles by al Qaeda’s top dogs – “Four Practical Steps to Expand the Global Jihad” by Osama bin Laden and “Have We Forgotten Who Is America?” by Ayman al-Zawahiri and Nasir al-Fahd.

Want to see if for yourself? Download a PDF version here.

We wish Samir well. But things are tough in the publishing business these days. We think he needs to tweak his magazine a bit to make it appeal to the average al Qaeda member.

We can sum up our recommendation in one word: Centerfolds.

Obviously, we are publishing geniuses. Jann Wenner, give us a call. We have some ideas for Rolling Stone, too.

Comcast airs Girls Gone Wild commercial during Vatican’s Good Friday service, sales skyrocket

girls_gone_wild So there you are in Philadelphia, wrapped up all nice and toasty in your Snuggies at 2 a.m. You’re watching the Vatican’s Good Friday service and what does your local Comcast cable system accidentally show? A commercial for “Girls Gone Wild’s Search for the Wildest Bar in America.”

It might have been Good Friday, but this was bad. Real bad.

“A spokesman for the cable company said the ad was aired inadvertently due to a test of the Emergency Alert System, during which the channel airs regular programming — which in this case included an advertisement for “Girls Gone Wild’s Search for the Wildest Bar in America” DVD.”

Now Girls Gone Wild head honcho Joe Francis says sales skyrocketed in Philadelphia.

“We may have tapped into a whole new market,” he said. “It seems that many of the same people interested in the Pope’s message are also interested in ours.”

Based on that statement, it looks like Joe Francis found the Wildest Bar in America. Now would someone do him a favor and get him a taxi. He’s in no shape to drive.

Cannibalism: NY Times attacks LA Times over ads disguised as news

There's nothing more fun than watching the media devour themselves.
There's nothing more fun than watching the media devour themselves.
This may be a case of the pot calling the kettle black, but the truth-challenged New York Times has attacked the Los Angeles Times for disguising advertisements as news stories.

One day after catching holy hell for disguising a front age ad for a new TV show as a news story, the LA Times did it again.

An ad in Sunday’s Calendar entertainment section ran alongside a four-page ad for a new movie called “The Soloist.” The four pages are designed to look like a news.

A Paramount Pictures spokesperson said the Times approached them with the idea. The complete advertising package included an online contest and promos that ran on KTLA, which is a Times sister company.

“You dress an ad up to look like editorial content precisely because you think it will make it more valuable,” said Geneva Overholser of the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication. “Fundamentally, that’s an act of deception.”

This is shocking. No, not the deception on the part of the Los Angeles Times. Everyone knows that. What’s shocking is that Overholser seems surprised by it.

Are you suffering from global warming? Henry Waxman wants to pay you $75,000.

California Democrat Congressman Henry Waxman is at it again and the compliant mainstream media is doing its best to keep it under wraps.

A provision quietly inserted in a House climate bill would allow “victims” of global warming to sue the federal government and businesses.

Henry Waxman. Or maybe Quark the Ferengi from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. We're not sure which it is.
Henry Waxman. Or maybe Quark the Ferengi from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. We're not sure which it is.

The Washington Times says that Waxman and fellow Democrat Rep Edward Markey of Massachusetts slipped it into their climate bill.

The provision would set grounds for plaintiffs who have “suffered” or expect to suffer “harm” so that they can somehow blame on government inaction. “Harm” is defined as “any effect of air pollution (including climate change).” Each plaintiff could walk away with as much as $75,000 a year in government payouts. Ahhh, but don’t you worry your pretty little head. Waxman the Watchdog is watching out for you. His bill says no one can get more than $1.5 million in lifetime payouts.

Where do we sign up? We’re already expecting to suffer some harm from global warming. A starving polar bear could wander down from Alaska and ate our lunch.

Bingo. When can we expect the check?

The ebullient Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security, smiles for the camera.
This is Janet Napolitano, President Obama’s Secretary of Homeland Security.

She believes America’s conservatives are more dangerous than Islamo-Fascist radicals.

She just issued a report in which she breathlessly tells the nation’s law enforcement agencies to watch out for you. “You” meaning anyone who doesn’t like President Obama, disgruntled veterans, states rights advocates, people who are suffering in the recession, and really successful talk show hosts.

She wants to put you in jail. But thanks to President Obama’s policy of renaming existing government programs, jail is no longer called jail.

Henceforth, it will now be called “President Obama’s Housing Program for Conservatives.”
